Ok I figured I’d make an update to this thread. I ordered and bought a JTRD back in 2021 and put 17k miles on it and loved it ever since. I also have been running 35s and it’s been great.
I got my diesel rubicon less than a month ago and put 650 miles on it, and I love it. It makes a good amount of torque, and I am getting 23.5 mpg around town.
I don’t plan on abusing my bed like it was a tradesmen so the premium seems like the better option thank you.
Also, that’s a good point I was planning on getting UV coating anyway.
I plan to get line-x spray in bed liner for my gladiator, and I'm not sure the difference between the premium and platinum options. Does anyone know the difference between the two liners?
All I gotta say is that I love my ecodiesel over the 3.6 jku that I had. The difference in torque makes up for the 20hp loss. I mainly bought the diesel because of the torque and I think of the increased mpg as a plus. I was getting 25mpg on a 400-mile trip going mostly 77mph. Where the 3.6l on...
So to answer your first question yes I have I checked it out during the day as well as at night. Initially I was between hydro blue and snazzle but I decided to go with the snazzle especially since I’m putting bronze rims on it, I think it will look really nice.
Also I am aware of the chip...
I think I’m going to go with the 2021 when I finally get it after ordering from either a pa, nj, or va dealer (whichever gives me the best price) I’ll post a couple pics
They do sell and aftermarket plug in for your usb in the center console that will make it wireless CarPlay. I’m sure there’s a couple videos on it too and the good ones run for $100 or so I think
Yeah, I agree even when I was looking at dyno runs of supercharged jk's the torque was still quite low compared to the diesel. Which makes it a no-brainer at this point to go with the JTRD because having that torque is great for the highway travel I am doing.
Thanks for the input! I just spoke with one of the technicians at the shop I might get my jeep regeared (if I were to keep it instead of getting the JTRD). They said the supercharger wouldn't be something that I would want for what I am doing which is high-speed travel(for a jeep). Pretty much...
Yeah, I am not too concerned about my fuel mileage as of now, I am going to regear my jk to see if it makes a difference on the highway. Like I mentioned I only have to make one stop which I don't mind and besides that, I would make short drives back and forth to college and the airport.
It's...
Hey everyone, I currently own a 2017 JKUR with a stock motor, 3.73 gearing, and 35s. My jk is practically new with only 36,000 miles with a good amount of mods put into it.
I am considering trading in my jk for a Gladiator rubicon diesel mainly for the increased torque, and the fuel economy...
If I was keeping the jkur I would probably end up regearing it because you're right it needs it.
What kind of lift kit do you have? I kind of figure the mpg would be a bit low I am guessing you're mainly driving around town? I noticed the stock jtrd I test drove was getting 17 mpg but I didn't...
