  1. Found new way to get coax/wire from cab to bed.

I’ll have to take a picture when I get a chance. I believe I drilled a hole in the back plastic wall of the jeep where that shelf is (where the Bluetooth speaker would live if you got that option) and just fish taped through the vent from the outside or maybe just used the rigid cable itself. I...
  2. Found new way to get coax/wire from cab to bed.

I ran mine through the air vent on the back of the cab since my WeBoost sits in that little pocket the rear seat. Then the cable runs up to the top of the Diamondback and back to the antenna at the far back.
  3. What recovery equipment do you carry?

Yeah, I carry a Noco jump starter. I would add that people need to set a reminder for themselves to charge these. Something I’ve neglected to do. I’m curious as to the state of mine and will check today. It’s also apparently worth carrying one of the large fuse arrays that folks here on the...
  4. Are Videos Broken for Any Other iOS/MacOS Users?

My only issue is that I never log into YouTube in order to avoid their algorithms when viewing content. They still clearly create IP-based shadow profiles, but at least I don't have my entire viewing history across every device influencing my search results, recommendations, home content, etc...
  5. Are Videos Broken for Any Other iOS/MacOS Users?

I played with this some tonight on with the dev console in MacOS Safari 17.4 and did some research on the web. This appears to be a WebKit problem, however, site devs are apparently modifying the DOM to fix this. Not sure what they're doing, although some kind of incompatibility with blob...
  6. DIY Slide Out w/ Sink

The wall keeps stuff on the slider from falling into the other side which is nice. I’ve still got some refinements to make and some kind of finish for it.
  7. Are Videos Broken for Any Other iOS/MacOS Users?

If I try to upload any videos of any length to this forum, they’re broken. I’ve tried reducing quality even to 480P. I’ve tried conversion to MP4. I’ve tried uploading from a computer instead of my phone, various browsers and the app. Nothing works. I have no problems playing videos on other...
  8. Think Im done with Jeep, guys.

    Mine’s through Geico too.
  9. Think Im done with Jeep, guys.

Do you have mechanical breakdown coverage through your auto insurance? They may cover this. It supposedly works like an extended warranty. When I bought my truck this either got added automatically, or I added it and didn't think about it again. It's easy to forget about, but it may be an option.
  10. DIY Slide Out w/ Sink

Dedicated to my Uncle Ash…. This is the first cut of a center wall. It still needs some cleanup and I may cut out the center of the aft section just to remove some weight. It’s isolated from the slider and the Diamondback with rubber bushings. You can pound on it and you don’t feel it in the...
  11. What did you 3D print today?

Maxtrax Pin Wrench. And…… A French Fries Holder:
  12. ELECTRICAL WARNING TO ECODIESEL OWNERS: Shifter Controller Wiring Harness (Service Shifter error message)

Ecodiesel snuff film I found the harness but couldn’t track where it goes with my dying inspection camera and the daily hurricane force winds we now apparently have. I’ll look again tomorrow. I’m blow away at how much random crap is under here going in every direction. It’s like this truck was...
  13. ELECTRICAL WARNING TO ECODIESEL OWNERS: Shifter Controller Wiring Harness (Service Shifter error message)

I’m going to check mine this weekend. My impression of the packaging of this engine working on it is that it’s pretty terrible. A lot of things are running all over, are poorly secured, poorly insulated and poorly routed. GM has had similar, but worse problems with the Colorado diesel with heat...
  14. Big aux battery for overlanding?

Most self-heating Lithium batteries are designed to charge safely down to -20° C. I’ve never had any issues in below freezing temps although I’ve never camped at -20° C and have zero desire to. I’m going to venture a guess that 95% of people aren’t overlanding in those temps or even below...
  15. Big aux battery for overlanding?

Yeah, and I don’t think AGMs are bad, just that Lithium is better for house battery needs. I wouldn’t throw away good AGMs and go buy LifePos, though. I would choose Lithium if I was building from scratch and didn’t have have batteries already.
  16. Big aux battery for overlanding?

Another thing to keep in mind. I’ve never charged my house battery. Meaning, I’ve never had to go home and charge it or plug it into a tender or charger. The solar panel keeps it topped off. It’s always at 100% unless I’m overlanding and running a bunch of loads off of it. In summer the solar...
  17. Big aux battery for overlanding?

Have you actually ever used a Lithium setup overlanding? I’ve used AGM for years camping and overlanding and boating and fishing, etc. Everyone is jumping on the LiFEPO bandwagon because it’s far superior tech in almost every way. It also keeps getting better and cheaper. My whole Lithium set...
  18. Stereo upgrade

The Sound Assassins are like Dynamat but thinner. It’s a sticky rubber with a foil top. You pull all the seats and adhere this to the floor. The Armorlite floor will fit over this, but it’s tricky. I made it work.
  19. Big aux battery for overlanding?

Ignoring the complexities of the ESS system, you could technically do this in theory. The big aux battery would be in parallel when driving and you’d have to remember to isolated it when stopped. There’s a number of reasons not to. It’s mostly pointless from an ESS standpoint. That system...
