  1. Odyssey Battery Warning

The problem with the Aux is that they tend to fail and start to kill off the main battery, and they’re dissimilar size. There’s a global shortage of these small AGM batteries and I think the quality is probably terrible. My dealership said failed Aux and main batteries account for their single...
  2. Odyssey Battery Warning

Yep. When you call you get EnerSys, and then transfer to Odyssey. None of the extensions at Odyssey answer or return messages except for sales. It seems like there’s one woman doing everything there because she helped me with the warranty and we talked about how broken their ERP was. This isn’t...
  3. Odyssey Battery Warning

I don’t have a strong opinion on NOCO. I know Schumacher is considered to be very good and they go way back. My NOCO jump starter has worked well and the charger seems to work unless it’s actually not working. I’m trusting lights on it. But as a general observation I totally agree, it’s an...
  4. Odyssey Battery Warning

Yeah, I think I just got a bad one. I’m also curious about the NOCO now. It doesn’t appear to have issues. I may try my Schumacher for a while. I don’t drive my truck daily either, just a few times a week. I think my usage pattern, plus diesel, plus the current state of just general...
  5. Odyssey Battery Warning

The old OEM sat for a year and only needed an hour on the Nocco. Considering that the Odyssey lives in the truck and gets the benefit of driving and the alternator, I’m pretty sure that the Nocco is fine. The big issue with them is that they can’t fix a bad battery. They can help sulfation in...
  6. Odyssey Battery Warning

Just an FYI to folks. I bought a 94R in December of ā€˜24. It died quite suddenly a month ago, registering 9V. The truck lives on a NOCO Genius 10 charger, plus I have solar charging from the DCC50S, plus I drive the truck consistently. The Aux is long removed from the truck. Things fail, so that...
  7. Squeak Right Above Idle - Any Ideas?

I’m now 90% sure it’s the butterfly valve sticking. My experience with belt noises is that they tend to manifest at higher RPMs. I’ve just heard so many belt noises over the years this sounds different, like sheet metal scraping. Like a rusty gate. I figured it may be a pulley bearing, rather...
  8. Squeak Right Above Idle - Any Ideas?

Just noticed my ā€˜21 Ecodiesel has a squeak right above idle. I can’t get it to stay squealing. Doesn’t do it while dropping RPMs. Only does it increasing the RPMs and only just above idle. It sounds like suspension but it does it and the truck is stationary. Sounds loudest under the middle of...
  9. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Every weld failed. They didn’t fail around the full circumference which I wouldn’t expect, but once a small portion fails and the arm can move, it’s just a matter of where it breaks or shears on its way up and over. Once one arm goes, it’s now pulling on the next arm from the opposite side while...

Did some birding from the top of the camper while drinking beer 🤫 while waiting for the ferry to evac from Ocracoke.

Mine is for sale. Comes with 2 tubes of JBWeld.
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I’ve loved mine in OBX and camping before I got the camper. I can stay on the beach all day under the shade. This one has done well under much stronger wind. I’m going to try and warranty it based on their stated capabilities, its age and those welds.
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Exploded my OVS awning in 10kt OBX winds and almost killed 2 of us. They’re rated for 40MPH winds, which seems insane. Love the weld quality. Once the first one went, every arm failed at the weld.

Mounted and tested out my x-rack rod holders and diy board rack. More details on the X-Rocket rod holders: I didn’t see any reviews of these and they’re stupidly expensive. But they’re the only game in town for mounting rods this way, so I pulled the trigger. I can no longer take my beach cart...

I have the RedArc elite. I’m very impressed. Fully plug and play. If you go off road with a trailer it’s a must have.
  16. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

I’ve got the Rampage mirrors but I’m waiting on the adapters from our guy on eBay. The trailer is about as wide as the Jeep so I can see to its rear corners with no issues. What it really needs is a camera on the back of the camera. I’ve already backed over one thing that tbh I can’t really tell...
  17. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Thanks! It’s a Limited Edition, which ought to just be a different model as it fixes a lot of the issues with the regular OP4. I think for the money it’s hard to beat. It’s got probably the best ratio of interior space to folded size and of importance to me, it can carry a lot of gear up on its...

  19. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Taking the new camper to Ocracoke for its first trip. I’ll take it to the mountains next to tests it’s off road capabilities.
