My only complaint with the 3.6 is towing! If I’m not towing my trailer the 3.6 has a decent amount of pep. I remember driving my Dad’s 1989 2.6 Mighty Max (109 HP); in comparison the Gladiator feels like a race truck lol.
For what it’s worth, telematics can do some odd things… I monitor a large fleet of vehicles that randomly throw ghost codes. I’m not saying you don’t have a potential issue; however, I would carry a jump pack and keep an eye on the situation.

My manual does this when I don’t Rev the RPM’s up high enough before shifting. It sounds similar to “dieseling”… the 3.6 simply doesn’t make good usable torque under 2200K.
