It may be obvious but those that are swapping in new crate LS3s arenāt going to have AFM enabled. Thatās 1 reason I felt comfortable with it in my 77 Trans Am. Not a huge amount of miles on it but itās been great for the past 7 years.
ESS has been working perfectly for a few weeks now. You guys were right that the voltage definitely varies a lot more now with healthy batteries. I expected the drop when turning off but not the variation when on. Never had this type of system on a car before.
Gas mileage is up about 1...
Yeah the Duracell fit perfectly. I have an Odyssey in my 77 Trans Am and it has been great. But I decided to go with the Autozone one on the main battery as it had a 2 year longer warranty, and the specs look pretty similar to the Odyssey. With the Autozone 2 minutes from our house I thought...
FYI my aux battery wasnāt holding its charge overnight at all. The main battery was dropping overnight though not as badly as the aux was.
I tried replacing the aux battery alone and ESS worked the same day but then the next day it stopped working again. Once the main battery was replaced...
Did the IBS reset procedure right after charging it up. Stop start now is enabled about 2 minutes after the truck warms up. Seems to be working much better now.
Thanks - trying to charge both batteries now and itās taking much longer than when I was charging the main directly. Sounds like for the load test I need to remove it to test it. I should make sure I have a replacement on hand I guess if it fails so I donāt have to rip it out again (or I just...
Main battery load tested at about 11.3-11.4V which i believe is decent. That was tested after I had charged it up fully (resting voltage was 12.9).
If I understand correctly I can charge the aux by connecting to the terminal on top of the negative post circled here? How do I load test just to...
When verifying the voltage at the negative cable I got readings for both cables. Do I have to completely detach the thinner one to verify the aux voltage? The nuts do not budge at all.
Thanks. I do have a Black & Decker charger that I've used to charge up the battery from time to time. How do you charge up the aux battery directly though?
Wondering if I should charge it up again and see if that helps anything at all.
Over the past 2 days the start/stop is no longer showing as ready. Havenāt gotten the aux switches unavailable warnings but the voltage gauge has been holding firm at 14.4. Thinking itās probably time to replace the 2 batteries (main again is 4 years old and aux is 3 years old). Initial aux...
Well good news at least is Iāve confirmed my ESS isnāt totally broken. I donāt recall it working since I added the Banks Pedal Monster to it and thought maybe that disabled its functionality. I was wrong.
No warnings again today.
My JT only has 16K miles on it so was hoping I could squeeze...
Thanks. Yes I imagine I just reset the IBS - and it will re-learn again that my batteries are weak. Will load test them tomorrow. Need to figure out how to load test the aux battery without pulling it out first.
I had been out of town and not driven it in a week before messing with the sensor.
Tonight driving around town it was at 13.7 most of the time. Stop / start continued to work perfectly. Iāll have to see if that reset helps avoid the aux button warning - havenāt had a chance to test that...
Ok but the voltage on the dash I thought was normal - itās between 14.2 and 14.4 most of the time. But I had thought I had battery issues since the stop start was never ready. Weāll see if it keeps working.
The aux buttons sometimes still show as unavailable if I havenāt started it for a...
Itās been a while since I posted this but I still havenāt replaced the batteries. Today I stumbled on this YouTube video to disconnect the sensor and connect it again. My stop/start is working for the first time I think in 3 years. It did take it one drive to wake up again after...
I thought my 2021 Mojave seemed like a lot to pay for a Jeep truck at $50K- not paying an extra $50K for a V8. Was hoping for the 5.7 as well but knowing Jeep theyāll charge $90K for that option anyways. Agree with others that I could never risk taking a $100K vehicle off road either. I am...
