  1. Who uses a dash cam and what do you recommend?

I use a Blackvue 580 series. 2 channel so front and rear. Yes it needs a separate Blackvue GPS receiver but its not a big deal. Fabulous picture quality, with 128G card in it I get about 28 hours of both channels recorded before it starts to overwrite old data. Mine is wired to my SwitchPro...
  2. [Updated w/ recovery video] Jeep Gladiator shears off a wheel climbing Devil’s Hot Tub @ Moab

When I was out there at EJS this year I decided Car Wash was enough tub for me. Fun to watch the others but needing to drive back to VA made caution the rule.
  3. Getting a group together for Moab EJS

@Mbryson is correct. I drove out from VA. I'm 80% firm for next year and look forward to running his groups again.
  4. Driving extended distance in heavy mud experiences

Reading about the dolts trapped in the Nevada desert at Burning Man had me thinking. I've been wheeling almost 40 years, everything from Moab to Rubicon to Missouri to Florida including foreign countries. I have NEVER had to navigate 6-8 miles of flat, straight road that is 6-10" of mud. Would...
  5. Moab hotels.

    I got them
  6. Moab hotels.

You are correct. Hoping to make it out again.
  7. Moab hotels.

I stayed at the Silver Sage Inn this past EJS. Don't let the simple appearance fool you. Recently new owners, lots of upgrades, VERY clean, well located and inexpensive. I've already booked for next year.
  8. Factory rear seat power point?

I appreciate both replies. I had looked at the ones available but hoped there was something factory that included 12v port for fridge. Thanks to you both, now I can plan my madness.
  9. Factory rear seat power point?

I'm looking to add a 12V power point and double USB power point to the rear seat area but before I get too far into planning, I thought I'd research factory pieces. Is there or was there an optional power point available for the back of the center console facing rear seats? It would seem a...
  10. Are all three of the Badge of Honor trails at windrock doable in a stock JTR?

Rain changes everything at Windsock. If its rained in the previous 3 days to your visit, expect side slipping resulting in rear fender/taillight damage. I ran 16 on 37s, 3.5" lift with no issues but it was bone dry (a rarity). Its a fun area with plenty for every ability/risk group.
  11. How/where do you put your Badge of Honor badges?

Pulled the 'Jeep' and Gladiator badges to make room. Will move to passenger side when full.
  12. Leaking axle seal?

I had a leak but on left side. Noticed at oil change, 20994 miles. Dealer was super helpful, 6 days in shop waiting for parts. Replaced entire axle shaft as a unit.
  13. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Took the obligatory Top of the World photo on last day, last trail of EJS.
  14. Planning a Moab trip, Spring 2023

    Ran it Monday. Good time.
  15. Planning a Moab trip, Spring 2023

I'm in Moab as well and I'll say when you go over the waterfall obstacle on Steel Bender you see some real pitch numbers. I can promise you beyond 50.
  16. SwitchPro SP9000 install

I know this is an older post, I'm installing mine when I return from EJS. Did you not consider the Powertrays mount system? That's what I'm using. Goes on drivers side, up again cowl. Very slick.
  17. Gladiator model question

Best unknown aspect of the Willys model is D44s front and rear, good upgrade from the Sport.
  18. Cant decide where to put ARB Dual compressor

@813 Fabrication & Design Behind seat mount!!!
  19. Weird triangular / T50 torx driveline bolts?

When I put Adams shafts in I remember those were a nightmare. Bolt is about 2.5" long and had 1.5" covered in thread locker. That head has a name but it escapes me. I used a harden torque bit T50 and impact driver. Not the big impact gun, 3/8 impact driver. It was still a bear.
  20. Factory Service Manual

Agree. We all know someone will eventually hack the USB encryption or online database and grab it all, then sell it. Nothing is totally secure.
