I am posting this up (with permission from mods), and will keep it short, but a friend, Jeep shop owner, and avid jeeper here in WV had a horrible accident this past weekend and had to life flighted out of the trail due to his injuries. He is my go to Jeep mechanic and owns/operates a small Jeep...
If you have a winch, never be too proud to use it. Go easy on the skinny pedal like mentioned above, but again, anything can happen. I've been running 39" KM3 on my magnusson JTR with 513's for about 8k miles and no issues. My axels are stock as well other than the gears. I asked about doing...
I'm approaching 10k on my set up with Dave's small pulley tune. Zero issues (knock on wood). I do drive it very conservatively tho, and try to never go above 5k rpms. Having 513 gears, I rarely have to go over 3k rpms, and when pulling my Opus, or any other trailer, I use manual shift to better...
Thanks for the feedback. I really like my km3, but my JTR is not a dd.
Looking at these and nitto ridge grappler in a 38. Wish the nitto had a 13.50 option, but they wear well and are on the lighter side of the 38” group.
Both tires being a 13.50, the Falken are narrower? I have 39" km3 on my JTR on a 9" black rhino wheel, and love the stance. My 39's measure at 37.25" under load at 35lb psi. My JTR is on the plump side with all the "stuff" and magnusson sc however.
Wanting to upgrade the 37" Geolanders AT...
Love it. Versatile, easy to set up, and travel with. Haven’t gotten to use it as much as we’d like due to kids and sports, but it’s handy as heck when we do!
Just for reference to OP, 39" km3 measure more like a true 38. I am running 39" km3 on my JTR and under load, they measure 37.5" and are a fairly light tire.
and to add to that, the roots style blower (magnusson) makes power/tq at much lower rpms than centrifugal super chargers.
I have read a lot of comments about having "choppy" throttle response with the magnusson. What I have experienced is the throttle response is just fine, you are literally...
Big Mike, that you?!? lol
He shoulda gone to UT and none of this woulda happened!!
As for the Synergy springs, they are the closest, that I could find, to factory spring rate. What Outdoor said is correct, you do not have the harshness on choppy, abrubt stuff like bridge transitions, rough...
Great post, thank you!
Agree on synergy springs as well. That’s what I pulled off my JLUR combined with falcon 3.1 shocks (older version).
Still very well may use the front springs on whatever I get and get 2” synergy springs for the rear, haven’t decided yet.
Thanks, I'm aware tho. I am using a 37" KM3 for my spare, which fits fine even tho I am running 39" Km3. I have on board air and patch kit in mine, and figure if I cannot repair something, atleast a 37 will get me home.
Do you know if it's possible to retrofit rear falcons for a JL to JT or Mojave? I'm guessing the rear mojave mounts are different from other models as well?!
Nice, thanks for the reply and feedback. Based on that stance, with AAL fender chop lights, 38's would have plenty of clearance. The mojave I am looking at already has that done. I am running 39" KM3 on my JTR frankenlift. Springs are 2" mopar with TF 1.5 spacer in the front, synergy front end...
