  1. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Thanks for that! Glad I ordered my manual when I did. I've had manual Cherokees ('85), Wranglers ('92 and '05-the last 2 Dr unlimited), and now the Glad ('21). I can't imagine a Jeep w/o manual .... Cheers!
  2. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Are they not making manuals any more, or are they just not available from most dealers? I had to my order mine from the factory in 2021. My 2021 Sport (Manual) sticker shows 19/16/23, but I typically get 2-4 mpg more.
  3. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Mr Miami, I'm curious about your claim. Are there any studies or data out there looking at identical vehicles with auto v manual transmissions? I suspect today's automatics are much better than a few years ago, but I am a bit skeptical they are that close in MPG to a manual. Just all of the...
  4. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

The MPG numbers in this thread all sound a bit lower than my experience With a manual tranny and stock sport I get 4-5 MPG better. I suspect big tires and auto tranny hurt MPG quite a bit.
  5. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

I believe it goes back until you reset it.
  6. When do you have your doors on/off?

Doors and top are off from mid-May to mid September. My wife and I have 3 cars, so if it is raining, Vlad the Glad stays in the garage. Most of my driving is around town, with occasional trips to cabin on less travelled county roads. Usually just me unless wife wants to go to DQ on a nice...
  7. Doors off, how do you secure your Jeep?

I have doors and top off all summer (wife & I have 3 vehicles). Lock the glovebox, console, and rear seats. Bed has a tonneau cover, and I lock the tailgate. Never had an issue going to the supermarket, etc. I wouldn’t park it somewhere at night for long. Oh, I have a manual, so I don’t...
  8. What’s With The Jeep Wave?

Gladiator owner here. I've also had a couple of Wranglers ('92 & '05) as well as an '84 Cherokee. Wranglers and Gladiators always get a wave from me. A really old Cherokee does to. The early '80s Cherokees looked a lot like Wranglers from the front so I always gave and got waves way back...
  9. Rehearing suggestions in Maryland?

Rehearing sound like an echo ..... :)
  10. 🦆🗡️ Warning: Duck Post

I find it more fun to give ducks away than to receive them. In fact, I bought a box of 50 on Amazon and always keep a few to give away in my JK.
  11. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

Good to know I can always get the $11 hinge pin part if it continues to corrode.
  12. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks! I seriously thought about buying a new $11 part, but the shipping was $40 ish. In the end I just got some cheap plastic covers. Very happy with the result!
  13. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

Thanks! I will stop at the dealer on my way to curling tonight.
  14. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

Thanks! I didn't know such things existed. It looks like the bolts in the door have to come out to install. I am suspecting that will be easier than I first suspected.
  15. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

I believe it flaked off on its own. I don't recall any issues (such as banging into something) when moving door.
  16. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

Thanks much, it sounds like it's easy to remove it from the door.
  17. Paint issue on door hinge pin.

2021 Sport. Doors have been off most of past four summers. Doors on / off 20 times in four years. Only the driver door. No other issues anywhere on the truck. Note that the the only issue is the hinge pin bracket. Some the other specks are dirt. How would you handle? Dab on some touch up...
