Here is a link for the solar panel I mounted. I had trouble finding it since I had put it on a wishlist so didn't buy it myself.
The controller is a small box that is mounted on the back of the panel.
Hope this helps. Its working great so far...
I welded up a mount and added a 20 watt solar panel to my jeep to keep the batteries topped off.
I've had it on a couple of months and it seems to be working great.
I welded some small C-clamps to it's support frame so I can remove it anytime I need to carry something big or long in the bed...
I really like those, but I wish they were available with more backspacing. I like the old school look. I used to have white steel wagon wheels on my old 69 chevy.
Since we don't know the real details all this is just speculation, but he could have just as easily been under the influence of some mix of his medications.
I've had several very confused elderly people who just didn't know what was happening, drive up the off-ramp thinking it was the on-ramp...
I would try opening the garage door, put a fan in the floorboard, and let it air out and try to dry whatever water got into.
Ide also check all your fuses.
Good luck, I hope it figures itself out.
Biodiesel,
I want to thank you for keeping up on all this for us. I would have never known about the "useful life" argument unless you brought it up to our attention.
I wish GDE would post a little more info on what there "Afterlife powertrain tuning" actually was on their webpage. Is it a...
Regular old school relays have an electro-magnet that pulls physical contacts closed, then releases the magnet when its turned off and a spring pulls the contacts open. Its all mechanical.
Newer solid-state relays dont have a mechanical electro-magnet in them, and no spring to pull the contacts...
I have had a scanguage2 for abt 2 yrs. I read somewhere (and my experience fits this) that my jeep will regen approx every 700 miles (650-750 or so) since the last regen regardless of soot level.
It will also regen if my soot level reaches 80% (sometimes I've seen it start at 77%).
During the...
OK, how I wired it.
First I bought one of those 7-pin wiring harness extension kits they sell to put a 7-pin trailer plug in the bed for hauling gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers.
That 7-pin plug not only provides all the taillight wiring, but also provides a 12v wire.
I mounted that yellow box...
Howdy all,
Ive been missing a headache rack since getting my diesel gladiator.
I didn't find anything out there that was what I wanted. I needed something that would let me strap long boards and metal into the 5 foot bed and would not rest on the cab.
So, I decided to build my own.
My welds...
I don't know squat about these smart alternators, but folks on here say you should reset your IBS when replacing a battery. Do you know if that happened?
Also, a new battery should be fully charged before installation, as they might have been sitting on a dealers shelf for months and months...
There is power available at the 7-pin trailer plug all the time, I have my charger connected to the pos and ground via this plug (make connecting the charger easy).
From reading JTdirtyD's response, it looks like the IBS can sense this and I'm good to go.
Howdy all,
I have been trickle charging (charger set on 2 amps) for two+ days via the 7-pin trailer plug.
Here is my question: Does the IBS still keep track of the amps/charge added to the battery even though the truck is asleep?
I'm wondering if after three days of trickle charging and the...
Its 15f here and my diesel glad started right up. I did put some hotshots winter with anti gel in it.
I do put it on a charger via the 7-pin trailer plug every now and then to top the batteries off.
