We sold our JL with the idea of buying a Gladiator... but I think the corrosion issue is going to be a problem. I tend to keep my vehicles to the very end, but I can't do that knowing the paint is already a problem. :( If things change, I'll revisit.
I believe either the front or rear (think the front?) axle walls (the casing) are or were thicker on the Mojave. Again... not sure if the Rubicon now has it too... but I do recall reading someplace that this was the case.
Understandable. I very predisposed to not believe anything a dealer tells me. That's why I'm trying to root out the answer between Jeep Corporate and the affiliate people. I'm not saying that you're wrong -- I'm just trying to take a "trust but verify" approach. :)
Interesting. When you say you requested a control number... can you explain? I have a control number -- but what good will it do me if it can't be applied?
Doesn't appear as much information here about the hinge paint peeling off... is it just as common on the Gladiator as it is on the JL? Or are fewer Gladiators sold so fewer reports?
When I bought my JL 2021, Freedom -- I was aware of certain things and not of others. One of the things that kills me is that I didn't know about the hinge corrosion. Mine is fine, but it's always something I'll wonder about.
On the Gladiator... what is there to look for? Same issues? Rear...
I think you hit on the salient point. The Gladiator is still there, but no MY listed. While others have MY -- OTOH, there is no JL (any year) listed at all -- and we know there is no affiliate on the JL. This is what leads me to think that there is an affiliate program for the Gladiator...
