I pull a dry 2400lbs Opus with my JTD..... well aware 40's don't help, but there is only one gage to watch when pulling anything at my weight or north of that---- ENGINE OIL TEMP! It takes nothing before that engine is north of 255 Deg and won't take long before the "limp it to the dealer mode"...
Easiest solution I have used to black out that area as well as the white hardtop interior is to use flat black plasti-dip... super easy, cheap, and noncommittal.. Also has a nice mat finish that doesn't reflect light much and has a soft feel to it. I used four cans to complete all of it. Only...
Current build option just calls it the tow package.. But it has supposedly better cooling By " heavy duty engine cooling"... 100% false advertising... Even on the sport s where max tow is shown, it still has the generic "heavy duty cooling" so probably all the same on the cooling front...
Getting the cooling is the most important part.... As a diesel owner with the max tow package, I run 40's and pull a 2400 lb opus and it struggles poorly to keep the engine temp. down. I could only imagine how fast my engine would destroy itself without the upsized cooling system.. Still isn't...
JScan is the way to go. More features than most of know how to use. I have found it very valuable just since Labor Day when my eco D went into limp mode and I was stranded in BF nowhere with an alleged plugged up DPF. Dealer said it can't be forced without them doing it... BS. J scan has the...
I’d almost put money down on a few things:
A. Diesel=dead forever… and I love mine!
They failed on that motor a few ways
1. Too expensive of an option for what it is
2. Cooling capacity isn’t even close for what that motor produces and is capable of
Expensive AF oil? I get parasitic loss to...
I’m reaching out here cuz Chrysler cannot/will not provide the flow rate range for the Bosch injectors. I can’t get it in to verify my findings that 4 of my injectors may be bad. The obd spits out compensation flow rates per injector and I have 4 that are in another country off from the two I...
So to follow up on my last response. I have been watching soot levels in JScan for the last week and a half since mine went into the- no more fun mode till dealer takes all your money message. It appears on my rig that ~ 75% soot mass is when the computer should call for a normal regen while...
Also I should have recommended everyone buying diagnostic tools because dealers in general can’t get anyone in regardless of your vehicle being inoperable or no for a month or more. Painful and frustrating when your Jeep is stuck in limp mode. I fully expect right to repair laws to continue...
