I’m not crazy about the little cover on each foot with the nuts captured in it because I can see it trapping water.
I’m thinking I will just leave that cover off and use the open bracket, using nylock nuts to secure the leg. Despite going to multiple stores last night, I was unsuccessful...
If the feet on all three sets of legs are reversed the cover rolls all the way open up to the cab without touching the legs or the bottom of the rack, which is ideal.
Last weekend I bought a Frontrunner Slimline rack from a forum member and after using it for a week I thought I would share some lessons learned.
First, here is a link to pretty much the same thing if you are buying it new:
JEEP GLADIATOR (2019-CURRENT) FOLD-TOP SLIMLINE II BED RACK KIT
If you...
That looks just like it. Jamie assembled the one I bought by buying the tall version of the legs and the tray separately because they didn’t have a Gladiator kit. I looked at the specs at the link and the overall height is the same.
No problem! I have another long work day today but I’ll make you the list tomorrow. I can roll it past the middle rack supports but the cover is too thick to completely roll out of the way. I have an idea for a fix though so I’ll include that and a pic if it works.
Added a Frontrunner rack after a purchase from forum member @njjeepthing . This came with a number of additional components that I didn’t install just yet. Jamie has some other items posted in the marketplace so I’ll mention here that he is a good guy to deal with and was helpful getting me...
I probably speak for many with this request - can we see some additional full on side and back pics? This is a really interesting approach and I would like to see more!
I’m gonna go a little farther out on that limb and suggest a “Your Mom” thread all its own. Just be careful though, there are a lot of funny people here who may drop like flies at the hands of the Ban Hammer. I can see where Your Mom jokes might quickly get out of control.
I did the Armorlite also. Not easy but still in my opinion the single best mod so far for me. You did impressive work with the kilmat! I should have taken the time to do that also but to the point of your post, there is no friggin’ way I’m going to reverse that procedure and remove the...
Full disclosure: I have my share of scrapes, rust, and dirty areas under there (pics attached for reference) and total respect for your ability to off-road way more than I can in this area. To clarify, I was using your pics to call out the immaculate way he maintains his, not bash yours. I am...
Hey Kelvin, I have the Bak X4s and that works best for my use case, which is mostly camping gear. I like the hard roll up because it does offer more lockable protection than a soft roll up. I also echo what others have mentioned about the retractable cover - I have concerns about off-road muck...
On the news today they keep rattling on about a 4.8 magnitude earthquake that was about 30 miles from me this morning. our house shook a little and there was some rumbling, which I thought was from the earthquake. But I just saw these pics and now suspect that all that shaking on the East...
Awesome pics and download of your experience with different choices John, and pretty cool to spot myself in one of the pics! Glad to see all is going well.
