Driving back from deer hunting tonight, punched the gas to get around a granny doing 30 on a 60 road.
As soon as the revs got up around 5000, engine light flashed on and the whole engine started shaking. I backed off the power, light turned off and engine stopped shaking. Hit the gas again...
Update for everyone.
Grabbed the rough country mount and Spectrum light kit - I’m really impressed with it! Throws a bunch of light out to the sides of the road and a decent amount forward. Great little floods up on the cowl.
Also bought harbor freights 14” light bar. less impressed with it...
Yeah I was looking at the HF harness thinking that I’d just end up cutting most of it off, just leaving the connector to whatever lights you chose, on the other end.
Ok think you guys have sold me on being able to expand in the future if I need to.
Out of curiosity, I’m looking on the harbor freight website. They have a wiring harness and a wiring kit. Ones $29, the other is $69.
Looking at them, it seems like I’d only need the wiring kit if I went for the...
I actually looked at the harbor freight ones in store yesterday. They’re certainly a contender.
I have no problem I’m spending money, it’s why my gun safe became multiple gun safes:CWL: but I’m trying to be more financially responsible
After a few years of owning the Gladiator it’s time to do something about the terrible lighting situation.
Rubicon, non-led, NO AUX SWITCHES.
I’m not wanting to add 12 different lights to the front and back, just looking at either cowl lighting, a clamp on light bar that will sit on the brush...
I just searched my emails and can’t find what brand they are.
A quick google search just brought a bunch of them up though. You do have to cut the Arcus bumper openings a little to get them to fit through. Wasn’t hard.
Congrats!
Yeah I do kind of wish we had gone with the extra door sometimes, not the end of the world though!
Adding an awning is next on my list to do. Way better than pulling out a tarp.
If you find a decent storage box, let me know. I’ve spent ages looking for something. At the moment I’ve...
No idea, they’re what came with the kit. I really haven’t done anything hard with them. Aside from being on Houston roads for 3 weeks in August lol
All four of my original shocks were leaking and pretty beat up when I got my lift. I’d had the Gladiator maybe 10 months at that point.
Fast forward another 11 months and I’m looking at two front shocks that look like this.
Needless to say I’m done with Fox. Neither my original shocks or these...
I think that a Facebook group exists, hiker owners it’s called? Not sure though. I got rid of Facebook years ago.
honestly for what the stuff costs that are available for add-ons, look at doing things yourself.
we added the roof bars from factory but everything I’ve added now, has saved me a...
can’t speak to how it goes with sand but I will say ours is very light. Not slapping $8000 worth of extras on really helps with that!
going for a 5x10 would have been my ideal butI thought we were going to be pushing it for space in the garage. I was wrong but hey, I can still lay down at 6ft...
If you’ve got any questions I’d be happy to help answer them.
ours is the midrange. I of course wanted to go for a more “off-road” style but the wife persuaded me otherwise. I’m glad she did. We were able to take the midrange everywhere we wanted to go, no problem.
only things we added were...
Compared to other options, they are positively cheap.
Rooftop tent set up would have cost somewhere around $4500. Which wouldn’t work for my family. I’m glad we paid a few thousand more for all the benefits of a trailer
Yes! We’ve managed to spend 10 nights in it so far this year (or there abouts).
We took it to Colorado, it’s been used in the Ozarks and is about to get some more use over the coming few weeks of hunting season.
Absolutely love it. Hardly notice it behind the Jeep. We did 2500 miles to Colorado...
