I know I am reviving an old thread here, but figured I would anyway for others awareness. Been having a pretty regular leak on the driveway (size of a baseball overnight), which initially thought was coming from the front axel cover (was dripping down onto the cover). After having that...
The only other thing I can think of is other jobs taking priority; dropping this for those.
Warranty work does not pay well, so if they were busy or backed up, I can see them putting this down to get other vehicles in and out. They did that when mine had the Power Steering Pump (electrical...
Got the truck back after 3 weeks, with the final resolution being; replace the Power Steering pump. Good as new.
Based on this thread, I let them know my thoughts the first day it went in. When I picked it up, they said âwe finally got there, but the forums were right - just had to go...
As long as they replace the entire axel shaft, you will very likely be good. It took a few days for the part to come in, so the actual repair was scheduled out, but only took a half a day to complete
After narrowing down the 47 fault codes, it does appear to be something with the power steering pump. The dealer engaged Jeep/FCA - FCA is asking the tech to do a "wiggle test" to see if there are any loose wires or bad connections with the pump.
So very similar to what resolved the issue for...
Having what is seemingly a very similar issue with our 21 overland Diesel. First time, had a bunch of warning lights (had power steering still). They replaced a sensor, checked grounds, and charged the battery. They also mentioned the pin connections for the doors can get corroded and be the...
well, if you were in this neck of the woods, you mightâve seen quite a few. Not just my buddy and I, the dealership I go to has said âitâs a known issueâ and âhave seen quite a fewâ. And thatâs just Jeeps with that axle
You have definitely read through the 107 pages on that thread - much appreciate the synopsis!
certainly understand the forums and smaller subset when it comes to issues being brought to light. Being a part of the Audi forum/community for years - it wasnât until the âforum enthusiastsâ shined...
Fair to look at units sold. Weâd also have to know how many vehicles have been currently impacted. It does seem Jeep/FCA is well aware of the issue, along with many dealerships at this point, and have tried to resolve it with a quite costly remedy (new axle shaft).
hypothetically, letâs say...
Our '21 Gladiator a few months ago had to go in for some warranty work for an issues with the rear axle seal leaking on the brake and wheel; caused a burning smell. The remedy was to replace the entire rear axle shaft, which included seals, etc. This also happened to a friends '20 Wrangler...
Maybe when folks are stating which model rides smoother, better, nicer, it's all in your definition of what "better" is... also understanding you are buying a Jeep wrangler/gladiator platform, not a normal SUV/Truck.
Drove the Rubicon before the Overland we ending up buying.
The Rubicon felt...
Might depend if you are planning on spending money on upgrades once you have it, or want everything from the factory.
80th anniversary has a couple of the exterior appointments you are mentioning, but also a few interior creature comforts; heated seats, stereo, other than leather.
Overland...
I wouldn't think it would be a spring rate difference, since the TSB doesn't replace the springs. Could be a change in valving/dampening in the shocks. Could also be like you said: softer jounces, or maybe even a different length.
I dont have a rubicon, but just bought a take-off set, so will...
Emissions Recall Y81: calls for a reprogram of the PCM 68338877AF -> AG. Just had this done on our JT
Started initially as a recall in Canada, which made it's way to us.
If you hadnât driven/ridden in a wrangler/gladiator before this, the lack of seat comfort can be surprising. Always felt jeeps have a numb steering feel; was similar in my wifeâs â19 GC, so not too shocking. We got 27mpg regularly in the summer/fall months, and has dropped down to 24 in the...
Touche and good distinction; being covered under warranty! Does not apply in this scenario at all, my bad.
I am used to owning strictly used vehicles and have to pay for everything haha. Cost of saving money after the car has depreciated I guess. Wife wanted a new Gladiator this time around...
In the world of TSB vs Recalls, at least with other OEMs I own and have owned; a TSB is just a notice of a known failure point or complaint from customers. i.e. when/if a customer complains of the known fault, the Mother Ship has let all the Independent Dealer/Techs know what parts are needed...
