  1. Ecodiesel Delete tunes

What I’ve been told from others who have done full deletes is that the only reason to do a full delete is if the EGR fails or starts leaking and to shed some weight. . I’ve been told that shutting down EGR and Def with a tune would be sufficient. Does this sound accurate?
  2. Ecodiesel Delete tunes

So is it recommended to get the tube that shuts down the EGR like the EOC tune or get the GDE tune which as I understand doesn’t shut down the EGR entirely? so is it recommended to get the tune that shuts down the egr like the EOC tune or get the GDE tune that doesn’t shut down the EGR completely?
  3. Ecodiesel Delete tunes

Would your DPF fill up faster if the EGR is turned off?
  4. Major Failure at 30k

Thanks for the Good info. Mine is a ā€˜22. Mine sits outside in the winter in Minnesota. I rarely drive it during the winter so I’m sure if I need one or not.
  5. Major Failure at 30k

Do they all have factory block heaters? I never daily drive mine and it never touches the snow in the winter. It’s strictly been for towing the boat and long trip’s camping all over the country. That’s why I think this was dealer error when changing the oil. Even the dealer that’s doing the...
  6. Major Failure at 30k

Did it come with a block heater or did you add one? After driving multiple jeeps over the years, I really feel like the diesel is the perfect powerplant for the gladiator. I love the torque. After reading many people’s opinions, I feel like it’s very possible that my dealer wasn’t using the...
  7. Major Failure at 30k

I’ll be doing my own oil changes from now on. The dealership has been doing the oil changes since I bought it new. While my jeep is being repaired now, I inquired with the service advisor where my Jeep is being repaired about the oil type they used, and he couldn’t give me an answer. I also...

How would they find out he was using Rotella? Is there a way to find out?
  9. Major Failure at 30k

MSRP price on the Gladiator JTRD was MSRP on my Gladiator JTRD was $72k in 2022. After discounts and trade I Still paid $55k out the door. You’re right. You pay that kind of money for something you expect it to last more than 30k before it has a major failure. I traded an ā€˜08 FJ Cruiser for...
  10. Major Failure at 30k

Right. None of that with my Jeep!
  11. Major Failure at 30k

No modifications while it’s under warranty still. Define abuse. I drive it on trips and I tow a boat that weighs less that what the Gladiator is rated for. I have 2 boats I tow. One is around 1500-2000 lbs and one is about 3500-4000 total depending on how much fuel is in it.
  12. Major Failure at 30k

I do see where it says that now. I’m wondering if that’s what happened to my turbo. I’ve had the dealership do the oil changes And maintenance while under warranty just so I’m covered if anything goes wrong.
  13. Major Failure at 30k

That’s amazing. Is the engine in the Ram the exact same as the engine in the Gladiator?
  14. Major Failure at 30k

What have you done to those engines to make them last over 300k?
  15. Major Failure at 30k

Sorry biodiesel. I replied to your thread about the guy saying there’s a TSB about not using Rotella….
  16. Major Failure at 30k

That’s the one I saw. Mine is a Gen 3. It doesn’t say anything about not using Rotella. You can buy Rotella 5W40 synthetic.
  17. Major Failure at 30k

The emissions systems have ruined diesel engines. Do have a reference to the TSB that says don’t use Rotella? All I can find is that it depends on what Gen Ecodiesel it is.
  18. Major Failure at 30k

Yes it is frustration. Yes it’s all repaired under warranty, but that’s beside the point. I’ve owned dozens of vehicles ver the years including Jeeps, and not one has ever had a failure like this at 30k miles. You’re right. I know nothing about diesel engines. This is my first one. I know gas...
  19. Major Failure at 30k

I apologize if I sounded condescending. This is just very frustrating for me. I know gas engines very well, but I know nothing about diesel engines. I’m definitely becoming more educated since this happened. I was just looking for some input as to why, and your reply did answer most of my...
