I wouldn't go as far as to say that emissions systems have ruined diesels. I would say that emissions have complicated modern diesels and created a more costly ownership outside of warranty. We've seen a few bone stock EcoDiesels with over 300,000 miles. The highest mileage bone stock EcoDiesel that I know of has 474,070 miles. So, it's not all doom and gloom.
What have you done to those engines to make them last over 300k?

I suspect those are driven as hotshot delivery vehicles or similar that stay on the road with lots of highway miles.

That’s the one I saw. Mine is a Gen 3. It doesn’t say anything about not using Rotella. You can buy Rotella 5W40 synthetic.
Actually, it does say not to use Rotella T6. It specifically says, "Using the oil specified for the GEN 2 engine in the GEN 3, will lead to deposits forming in the turbo charger. leading to reduced performance." Rotella T6 was specified as an approved oil in the GEN 2.

What have they done? Well, @Hootbro is pretty much spot on. Many of the Ram EcoDiesel engines seen below have been used for long-distance hauling. And when I say hauling, I'm talking about something as light as medical supplies to heavier commercial RV hauling.

I owned the bigger 6.7L 2 of them actually and always ran them at least 150 miles pertrip . It kept them burned out and clean .

I keep in touch with Tyler on a weekly basis. He's actually closer to 570,000 miles, but hasn't made an official update. If things go well, he will turn 600,000 before the end of year.

That’s amazing. Is the engine in the Ram the exact same as the engine in the Gladiator?

Modern diesels, especially those that are stock, do best when running hot. They seem to last a long time if you keep them on the highway. Eventually, EGR coolers fail, DEF pumps fail, NOx sensors fail, DPFs fail, etc. I've already had to replace some of those things on my 2015 Ram EcoDiesel.

My Map sensor would have to be cleaned about every 30k the little orange tip would get dirty.

I do see where it says that now. I’m wondering if that’s what happened to my turbo. I’ve had the dealership do the oil changes And maintenance while under warranty just so I’m covered if anything goes wrong.

Unless it was abuse or you modified. Which I am sure you didn't 😏 I would imagine it would be .

Yes, the Gen 2 engine was used from 2014 - 2019 in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Gen 3 engine was used from 2020 - 2023 in the Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Cherokee. The Ram is tuned for more horsepower/torque, but it's the same engine.

We don't have many high mileage Gen 3 engines in the Ram. So far, here's what I have:

No modifications while it’s under warranty still. Define abuse. I drive it on trips and I tow a boat that weighs less that what the Gladiator is rated for. I have 2 boats I tow. One is around 1500-2000 lbs and one is about 3500-4000 total depending on how much fuel is in it.

Here's the MAP sensor log for my 2015 Ram. I just turned 130,000 miles, so it needs to be replaced again.

Deep water fording, running without air cleaner etc.. basically stuff than no sane person would do.
