Only if it is running a generator to supply power to batteries and electric drive axles...
I had a 2.0T JLUR and it was ok. Liked the turbo for driving up mountain passes. Didn't like the 2.0 displacement or lack there of for engine braking or lack there of on long descents.
It took some trial and error to get mine where I wanted it, but I have mine positioned so the tailgate seal just touches the tailgate when closed. Too far rearward and it pushes the cover up when closing the tailgate, and too far forward and you get a gap.
I've had mine on for right at a year...
I still get emails, letters, etc from the dealer I bought my JT from asking if I'm interested in selling/trading my 2020 JL (that I bought from them and traded on the JT).
Personally I would only be temped by the generator-electric system introduced in the Ramcharger 1500. I'm not a fan of the current ICE>electric motor>drivetrain hybrid systems like the 4xe. Way more complicated than they need to be compared to an ICE>generator>drive motor system.
Ram just announced the 1500 hybrid which is a series hybrid vs. the parallel hybrid that the 4xe is. I would guess this new system will be what to expect for the REPB hybrid for 2028. Not sure what to expect for the 4xe PHEV Upgrade coming in 2025 though.
After being MIA since before starting this thread, my instant MPG returned to it's proper location over the weekend. I had tried the trick of staying on the voltage screen for a few cycles but that didn't work for me. I did have my display on tire pressure for a bit though. Just a random...
Press the right arrow on my steering wheel, toggles range on and off. There is no instant on either screen since a week ago. This isn't user error not knowing there are two screens. This is a bug in the screens.
That's what I am thinking. I've tried a bunch of button combos that I could have accidently done while driving but nothing has worked. From the sound of it I'll just have to live without until it decided to come back.
I had this happen once before but it cleared itself up in a day or so, but this time it's been multiple days since the instant MPG disappeared from the current fuel economy page. Instead of showing range below and left of the gage and instant MPG low and right of the gage, it only shows range...
I use the Gasbuddy app to price shop. Right now there are crazy differences from station to station around me. For whatever reason Shell and Caseys are consistently lower than the rest, even the interstate locations. Cheapest is $3.31 and it ranges to around $4.20. It's a much smaller price...
I ran EDT+Winter from the 1st tank when I picked mine up in January until the overnight temps were out of the low 20s. Since then I've been running LX4, 2oz every fill up. My understanding is LX4 is the component of EDT that improves lubricity.
I'm usually closer to 1/8th tank when I refuel...
I have a Metalcloak Gamechanger 2.5" arriving today for my Rubicon diesel. I looked it AEV and Clayton as well. I decided on Metalcloak for the full package for less than the Clayton without shocks. If you're not in a big hurry, watch for holiday sales from Metalclock to save a little more.
A couple of things on the Departure interest me. This is the second year for the "prototype" flat fenders with OEM fender lights. I would really like to see those hit the Mopar catalog.
The tube tailgate with tire mount makes me wonder if something similar could be developed for the Gladiator...
One of the few disappointing things from my JL gas to JTD transition was the smaller fuel tank due to the addition of the DEF tank. I've done some poking around and it looks like the gas and diesel options share the same in tank fuel pump. If a new location for the DEF could be found (that...
Placed an order for 5 this morning. I was ready to pull the trigger on some Patagonia X/Ts for similar price but feel better about a tried and true brand, even at these "cheap" prices!
Thanks to the OP for sharing and to all that ordered and verified these are the real deal!
