I'm not sure. The glue/seal reminded me of windshield adhesive. It is strong. It also didn't peel out of the housing once I got it open. I didn't bother resealing it. The wire splicing I did prevents me from effectively sealing it up again anyway. The whole mess is hidden in the dayliter now...
Not sure how it happened. They didnt cost me anything so I figured screwing with em for a few hours would be worth a try.
I was scared to death I'd melt the wires internally as I try to melt the adhesive, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Turns out the glue for the front lens melts pretty...
The pigtails on these two lights got ripped off and I'm trying to open them up and solder in new wires. Removing the 4 screws wasnt enough so im assuming its glued. How can I get these open to replace the wires?
This got off topic quick. I interpreted the CEO's statement in a different context. He's all for repair but it has to be done a reasonable price. To me, that means he doesn't care if people repair their cars at home but he doesn't want to spend extra money on design to make it easy to do an oil...
True, but we still need to teach the "old ways". We're talking first cars and learning. Give them the most knowledge you can and allow them to appreciate the tech. My wife's car has all the safety/nanny stuff ('24 Hyundai Tuscan). But when the snow/ice/heavy rain and fog get bad, all of those...
These remind me of something that was confusing to me the first time I heard it. "A safe knife is a SHARP knife." How could more dangerous be safer?
With all the nanny levels we have in cars these days, no one knows how to actually drive anymore. ABS killed the pump-the-brakes skills, next thing...
Exactly! My 13 year old is already eyeing the 99 Wrangler. it's only sitting on 31s but I have a feeling she wants to change that as well. It makes me proud AND worried.
I'm on the fence. My daughter? Yes, but the back seat is removed. maybe the passenger seat too... I don't really want my kiddo getting cute-girl-in-a-lifted-jeep attention.
User manual? What's a user manual? (JK, but the only thing I got was the install instructions and there's no manual on the website)
I also emailed Decked customer service. Here's what they had to say:
ME: " I'm considering doing T-rails cargo rails for the top. I see there are dimples in...
Got the decked system. There are evenly spaced dimples in the top. Are they intended for cargo T-rails? I'd like to use it for that purpose. Anybody know or done it?
I'm very torn on this one. I love the old Gladiator heritage but I'm convinced they will end up axing it if it becomes it's own truck platform and get the Comanche Treatment because the Dakota is coming back. Keeping it a variant of the Wrangler is probably the safest route to keep the...
my question for this style thing is what do you do with it if you have to swap the tire? Its always been my luck for the tire to shred and grenade itself on the highway....
I like the well used look as well. I did just notice that only the front seats have the Katskins tag. I had assumed all seats were the better leather. I'm guessing not. The fronts are not doing the flaking thing like the rears. That's a big disappointment.
That's kinda what I think too. It's very weird. The front seats aren't doing that color cracking thing.
I ended up finding Obenhauf's leather care kit. I'm going to try it this weekend.
I also cleaned the center seat with Tanner's leather cleaner and it got the crud off nicely.
My Fan kinda freaks me out when it really starts pulling. It's normally very quiet but those times when it needs to really work it's very noticeable. SO if you never heard it get loud enough to grab your attention, I would check it. I agree it sounds like an air bubble but that fan should have...
I feel your pain lol
Look on the seats for a tag. If it is the Katskin from the Factory, you'll have a tag that says Mopar by Katskins. If it was katskin installed after it was sold, I'd don't think it says Mopar (but I could be wrong)
My window sticker says it was $1750 in 2021...
I have, and I didn't see a lot of difference, the regular leather is supposedly a little thinner and katskin uses leather in a couple of places that factory is vinyl I guess. But that could have changed since. Mine is a 21 and I've not looked at...
