  1. Imcorrect TPMS sensors started working, then didn't

This is more just a, what do you guys think it could be? I bought some used rims, slapped what I thought were the correct tpms sensors in them with some new tires a few months back, turns out they were the old model tpms, so they dont work. No biggie, I ordered the correct ones, and haven't...
  2. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

I towed a 6k# wakeboard boat with mine. Kept it at about 60 and it did fine. I wouldn't worry too much about pulling 4k. The max tow version is rated for 7k or something. I'm not sure if they have 4.10s in the diff but if mine is rated for 4k with the lame stock clutch, yours is certainly...
  3. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

I agree with shadow on this one. Let the transmission do what is wants unless it keeps shifting back and forth while cruising on flat ground. Then force it into the lower of the two gears, or lower your speed to keep it in the lower. Watch your transmission temps. If you have made it this...
  4. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

That was a good video. RP xpr is at about 1300ppm of zinc, not a giant amount and should be low enough to not cause other issues. There is definitely other things at play than just zinc, but if a modern oil has the chemistry figured out to include it, why not use it. I'm just doing everything...
  5. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

I never said 200 was bad. I had been running cooler in earlier posts and wanted people to know that with the warmer weather I am seeing an increase in temperature. 200 is probably about perfect seeing as the coolant runs about 190 on average and the oil is cooled with that. I stated in my...
  6. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

Now that summer is upon us, I am seeing temps around 200F. I am using Royal Purple XPR 5W30 it is not api certified, will void your warranty if they find out, is a much better oil. Not because of the weight or the brand, because the zinc isn't limited by the epa.
  7. Cam and rocker question

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/cam-rockers-and-lash-adjusters-at-39k-miles.79055/ This is the thread I started about it. I had 39k miles on it when I fixed it, probably started at 30k. There are TSBs about a ticking noise. Just says to replace all intake lash adjusters and...
  8. Cam and rocker question

I had to replace bank 1 intake cam and rockers. If the rocker is worn, so is the cam. Replace the cam and the lash adjuster on the bad rocker. The TSB says to do all of the intake lash adjusters for a tick. If one rocker is bad, I would say the same thing. You should pop the cam off and...
  9. Oil Pressure fluctations

Seems like shadow knows a lot but is incapable of expressing it without being condescending. Happy Jeeping Everyone!
  10. Oil Pressure fluctations

I don't have a better thought as to why every lobe on my bank 1 intake cam wore down to nothing but the bank 2 intake came was perfectly fine? Seems like an oil problem to me otherwise they would both be the same or at least similar. On the other jeep worked on it was only one lobe worn and 1...
  11. Oil Pressure fluctations

Cam bearings looked fine. I had mentioned that the dealership wanted my mom's jeep to get a new head but those were also undamaged. All the metal particulate I found was extremely fine, my guess (and I emphasize guess), is that the larger particles got caught in the filter before reaching the...
  12. Oil Pressure fluctations

Hey, thanks for the mention. The pentastars have a variable pressure oil pump. There is a solenoid that opens and closes an oil channel that allows it to dump pressure. My assumption is that this is for fuel economy, but I'm not an engineer. I should have taken better pictures of the...
  13. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

I was using Mobil 1 0w20 I think it was the "suv" oil I'm now using royal purple xpr 5w30 I may switch to the HPS to save a few dollars an oil change but it's not much difference.
  14. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

Those are temps I would see pulling my camper, just changing oil seems like it has done a lot for me. If I have future problems with temp I will look into the fan controller but I don't think it is going to be an issue going forward.
  15. Cam, rockers, and lash adjusters at 39k miles.

So the dreaded tick got me and due to my poor hearing it must have been going on for a while. At the same time I noticed mine, my mom's jeep also developed one. This thread is going over the repair and, more importantly, how I am going to keep it from happening again. My parents' experience...
  16. Magnuson SC

Also, just pulled my camper with is. I was able to accelerate up small hills, maintain up the rest. Could keep 75 just fine.
  17. Magnuson SC

With the magnuson I had to go with the stock pulley, I may even need to go one size larger as it makes a lot of boost at high revs.
  18. Magnuson SC

Drives like a champ. Got help from a guru and it made all the difference. Still working out a few bugs. Gets some knock at the top end, likely due to too much boost.
  19. Magnuson SC

Current update is: it was running and driving but would bog down and lean out if I got on the throttle too quick. I messed with the throttle voltage and caused the pedal and throttle body to get out of sync/ not respond so the throttle remains shut. So I now have to figure that issue out...

My 22 came with the older PCM. I'm guessing because it is a manual
