  1. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

UPDATE 1/30/2026: After a repeat visit to the shop that took about the same amount of time as replacing the clock spring, the Gladiator has a new "steering wheel harness" and the subsequent test drive found "steering controls to work as designed". For me, this meant a half day burned each...
  2. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

Good luck! This appears to be a relatively rare failure and there are really only two major components to replace. I’m optimistic we’ll both be up and running 100% again soon! :)
  3. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

UPDATE 1/27/2026: The Jeep dealer replaced the clock spring today. Everything seemed fine until I drove off. Maybe ten minutes later the steering wheel controls became non-responsive with essentially the same intermittent failure I previously described. I came back, showed the service...
  4. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

Today Jeep said it was indeed a bad clock spring. The stored error with the body module code confirmed it. The service manager said it was the first Wrangler or Gladiator they've seen with a clock spring failure on a JL/JT (and why not a commonly stocked part). Note, the part is described as...
  5. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

That didn't last long...I'm back to having the same issues with non-responsive steering wheel buttons intermittently. What is odd is that I was previously able to reproduce the problem with the Tazer connected, but cleared up and functioned without it. In hindsight, that might have just been a...
  6. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

That's right. I also have an extension and splitter but had same results plugged in directly.
  7. BAD Clock Spring / Steering Wheel Harness (was OBD-2, Security Gateway, and odd bypass cable issues...)

I did a search but didn't find anything that matches what I'm seeing on my Gladiator, and posting here on the chance this helps someone else... My issue in a nutshell manifests in two specific ways: lighting oddities with my OEM LED fender lights (this started with some aftermarket units and...
  8. Any 38x12.5’s that fit under the bed?

Oh yeah, that works fine too...and is actually safer if you get a bit too exuberant with the fuel. That wheel/tire can't go anywhere. It's hard to imagine how much fuel it would take to move it meaningfully. Good time for an unrelated but maybe useful PSA: My built 2012 JKUR burned to the...
  9. Any 38x12.5’s that fit under the bed?

Yes, that is exactly right -- but wait, ignore which/what? *See special fire potential notice below. While I think this is a good backup plan, it is not risk free. We could do the math, but if you don't go too crazy, it really can't cause too much damage. The risks we take on the trail are...
  10. Any 38x12.5’s that fit under the bed?

It works great! Just *spray a trail for a longer "fuse" so you don't need to stand right on top of it...light it, then have your air source ready to go right away or you'll have to start over.
  11. Infinite Offroad JL/JT Turn Signals

These are good lights that you can find packaged under a few different labels. I don’t think these are necessarily unique to Infinite Off-Road. They have excellent customer service and I’d buy from them again, no doubt about it! That said, I went back to the OEM fender LEDs…mostly because...
  12. Disable Fender Lights w/Headlights On?

UPDATE: I am running MOPAR OEM fender lights (was running aftermarket LED fender lights) along with MOPAR OEM LED headlights without a meaningful difference in the situation. I found that choosing to deactivate the values for left/right dedicated fender light DRL *sometimes* results in the...
  13. Rear Side Marker Lights not staying on

Until you stated “sometimes” I figured this was the default “drop“ during indicator use that is common on modern CJDR platforms — only I didn’t know if the rear markers used the same strategy (seems unlikely to me). Are you using any aftermarket controls including having changed values with...
  14. West Virginia OEM LED daytime running lights

    PayPal sent. Thank you.
  15. Start-X Remote Starter Kit (Wrangler/Gladiator PTS)

All I can offer is that the kit I bought was cheap and works great to this day. Even if you could just reprogram and buy a new key or two, it would cost a lot more (for the keys). Every other auto Wrangler I’ve had came with remote start. My suspicion is that the during the Great Parts...
  16. Checking before I pull Tazer to update.

With the turn signal camera hack, I used to lose audio. It felt like it was muting for a competing audio stream while the camera was active (but seemed random). My updated TAZER fixed that. I like your chances with an update! As others have suggested maybe un-marry, too…
  17. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

Thank you. I agree. Curiously, I don’t do many short trips. I’ll be watching this closely.
  18. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

I do my own oil changes. It isn’t overfilled. Five quarts exactly. Oil level not indicating low either. I’m fairly certain this is mostly water vapor based on how thin it is and that I’m not low on oil. I’ll be checking on shorter intervals going forward.
  19. I Think Installing the Catch Can Broke Something!

At 1560 miles, my catch can was full! I mean to the very top -- I'd have taken a photo, but by that time, my hands were a bit of a mess. That brings me to a related point... It was a bit of a trick to fish it out without spilling anything. While the can extension option, for another 3oz of...
