  1. Educate me on Solid State

High current solid state relays generate enough heat when "ON" that they can require a heat sink. Low current ones still generate heat but usually don't need a heat sink. Very low current loads may not turn "OFF" without the addition of a pull down resistor.
  2. Puting a cap on the back of a gladiator

If you have a soft top on your Gladiator some of the fiberglass caps interfere with the Gladiator roof. You have more cap options if your Gladiator has a hard top.
  3. Camper shell suggestions.

All I can add here is that I have 35,000+ miles drive with our Alu-Cab installed without any issues. I have not carried any significant weight on the roof, but would not hesitate to do so. One nice feature that is often overlooked is that there are I believe 5 uni-strut like aluminum channels...
  4. Camper shell suggestions.

We bought an Alu-Cab and are very happy. Chose it over the RSI because it was lighter and came fully assembled. Fewer points of possible leakage. Note that if you have a Gladiator with a soft top many caps will not fit on your truck. Both the RSI and the Alu-Cab will fit.
  5. Any 2025 Labor Day deals on factory extended warranty?

Are there any 2025 Labor Day deals on factory extended warranty? I've decided that my 2023 JTRD is a keeper. Bought in March of 2024, and currently at 30,000+ miles it has been flawless, but I am worried about modern day diesel emissions stuff and modern complicated electronics in general. I...
  6. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid drilling out the license plate screw holes, doing so being irreversible, but in my mind this ended up being the cleanest install. There's no risk in these falling out behind the bumper if I change out the license plate due to the interference fit I achieved. There is...
  7. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

This is a non issue for me because I've installed my own license plates for the last 40+ years. I am not worried about someone else messing up my air bag air fill fittings. If you look at the air fitting supplied by Air Lift you'll see the fitting at the hose barb end is larger than the...
  8. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

    Here's the final outcome.
  9. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

I read about doing this, but this is the first picture I've seen. Thanks. On my Rubicon the metal under the plastic bumper cover has no holes that line up with the license plate screw holes. I like this mounting best so far, but some drilling is required, and the bumper cover may have to come off.
  10. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

Under the fuel filler door is kind of crowded on a diesel. Remember I have a JTRD.
  11. Rear air bag fill fitting location?

Hey folks, I just finished installing the Airlift 1000 kit 60830 on our 2023 JTRD. My air fittings are just tie wrapped to the bumper until I figure a clean way to permanently mount the air fill valves. Where and how did you folks mount your air bag fill valves? Maybe I won't have to...
  12. RSI Smart Cap with Roof Top Tent

Stainless steel will harden and crack over time, just like aluminum. The question is whether the design has enough margin to handle the load of a rooftop tent. I would venture to say that both RSI and Alu-Cab will say that their designs are good enough to handle the weight of a roof top tent. I...
  13. RSI Smart Cap with Roof Top Tent

Take a look at the top of my Alu-Cab "Canopy" cap. (Ignore the black lump at the center rear. That's a home brew rear view camera mount ) The top is flat except for the two slotted mounting rails. The fresh air vent is on the front of the cap. The Alu-Cab is lighter than the RSI and comes as...
  14. Our Alu-Cab Canopy (cap), questions, pics, and maybe future mods...

Yes, I am able to open our soft top with the Alu-Cab Canopy in place. That was one of our primary requirements before we bought our Canopy. I'll try to take a pic later this week.
  15. Anyone consider replacing the aux battery with a capacitor?

High quality capacitors should not degrade, at least over the typical life of a Jeep. It might be a good way to side step the need for auxillary battery replacement every few years.
  16. Anyone consider replacing the aux battery with a capacitor?

Anyone consider replacing the aux battery with a capacitor? This would be like one of the capacitors used by some folks to stabilize power when running the super sized aftermarket audio equipment?
  17. I want LED Tail Lights - Do I need to reprogram (Tazer, etc.)? I have LED headlights.

I was given some LED tail light bulbs (I don't remember the brand) that had the built in resistor and were supposedly CANBUS compatible. They hyper flashed and the dash indicated bulb problems anyway. And they got hot as blazes. I will be getting a programmer and then use normal non resistor...
  18. New Product From WOLFBOX! Guess Game On!

My guess is a front bumper or grill mounted camera or possibly a cabin camera. We JT and JL Jeepers would also like to see a mirror that doesn't block the visor.
  19. Pennsylvania WTB- LOD or Rock Hard Flat Tow winch bumper

I found a NIB Rock Hard Patriot 90244 aluminum full width aluminum bumper at a price I couldn't turn down. Yeah, I would have preferred the 90245, same thing but with the lowered winch mount, but some deals you can't turn down. Anyone want to trade their 90245 for my 90244?
  20. Anyone installed Diode Dynamics Elite headlights in a diesel Gladiator?

Anyone installed Diode Dynamics Elite headlights in a diesel Gladiator? I've into a problem running the passenger side cable from the headlight bucket to the turn signal connector in our 2023 JTRD. The videos I can find are all for gas engines. The Ecodiesels have their air intakes, battery...
