Youāre much more likely to high center than ever drag your hitch enough to matter. I didnāt drag mine and if I did it was coming off a ledge descending, so no threat of getting hung up, if thatās what youāre worried about.
Black paint is easy to touch up.

Maybe because of all the heavy scrap-iron hanging off your jeep, and tall tires with improper gearing. Maybe shifting manually will preserve the transmission because Iām sure it shifted in and out of overdrive constantly your entire trip. Itās a dual purpose vehicle. Not great for towing, but...
I canāt imagine another inch and 3# making more than 1mpg difference in fuel mileage. And brand to brand they vary so muchā¦. are the current tires actually 37ā and new tires actually 38ā?
Hell Iām only averaging 17mpg with 34ā tires.
Yours has Tow package but not Max tow. Mine is same but trailer tow came with the Texas Trail edition. Mine has an electric trailer brake contoller, but no clue if it came with it or was added by previous owner. Does yours have the brake contoller?
Iāll look for pics of the poke on my setup. Texas Trail edition is same as Willys I believe. Iām running Nitto 305/70/17 which measure very close to 34ā. Iāll have to look at the back of the rim to give you offset as they were on mine when I bought it.
My Nitto 305/70r/17ās (close to 34ā) didnāt rub until I unhooked the front sway bar so it would fully articulate during technical rock crawling. The tires do get into the bottom of the Rugged Ridge front bumper hard when turning while articulated and outer plastic of fenders sometimes. So...
We have always had some sort of open air capable ride. Wife totaled her Mustang convertible back in October so we went to the Ford dealership to order a ā24 Bronco and this beautiful bright red ā22 JT with mild upgrades was on the used lot. Bronco is 8 months out and we needed something fun to...
Nice rig! Tell me what on Imogene pass caused you to break? Weāre planning on doing Imogene among others this July. Iāll be in a 3.5ā spring lifted Sport S with 33ās. Possibly 35ās by then. Ive been manually disconnecting the front sway bar an rocks around here.
Comparing anything from 2007 to current quality wise is no comparison. Quality control within all the manufacturers, especially domestic, has gone way downhill since 2007 (pre plandemic). And all the new bells and whistles with sensor and software issues. All having issues.
If removing roof and/or doors are not your thing. Get something else. I agree a Jeep isnāt a relaxing interstate drive.
What does the rest of the family think?
Their opinion matters way more than anyone here.
