Second analysis with RP HPS. Did 2600 miles with 6 month duration/85 run time hours. Iron did trend up just a hair but confirmed with Lake it is noise in testing. Truck has 21,500 currently. 10 ppm total wear per thousand on previous analysis to 8.5 per thousand.
I don't drive it much. It took 6 months to put 2k on it. Wanted to be sure fuel dilution or condensation did not break viscosity down. I'll definitely go a full year and 3 to 4k next change that I know oil had good life left. This isn't the API version of RP it's the old school RP SL formula...
Lifted rear with 2 inch ICON springs and took those 1.5 pucks off. Perfectly 43.5 in rear and 43.75 in front. As level as she's going to be. I'm happy with it. No more stupid rear rake.
Installed springs and new bunpstops. Went from 42.5 to 44 from bottom of tire to bottom fender. Basically a true 3.5 of lift final height. Front sits right at 0.25 higher now.
Question is my caster went from 4.8 degrees on the left front to 5.4 and 5 degrees on right front to 5.7 from previous...
Spoke with Teraflex from what they stated the 2.5 should level with rear. However they recommended diesel springs for the added weight of winch and Mopar steel bumper. Said it will limit the amount of settling that happens after initial install.
I know it might be hard to perfectly get it...
Currently have the 2 inch Teraflex front pucks, 1.5 rear pucks. Noticed that with my winch and Mopar oem bumper I'm 0.5 inches higher in rear.
I'd like to get rid of that rear rake as I don't like it and have no plans to haul anything. Looking at getting 2.5 Teraflex springs for front to...
Checked filter and at least by eye no metal debris. My first oil change at 500 miles had just a small amount of shavings deep in pleats but that's to be expected.
As the title says does this sound like the injectors? No codes runs smooth with good power. 19k on the motor 2500 to 3k oil changes. 5w30 not the watered down CAFE 0w20.
Ok. The 3.6 was spec'd on 5w30 in 2011. Wasn't until 2013 it was 5w20 then 0w20 in 2018. Tolerances were not changed in that time. In fact most export models will recommend a thicker oil. Further indicative that thin oils shorten the life expectancy.
Think about this they just want the piece of...
Must have. I don't know very much about oil. It's my first time ever touching a vehicle. Do I pull filter? Drain first? Fill first. It's all so confusing. 🤔
While I do think 0w-8, 0w-16 or 0w20 is strictly CAFE and not for the best of the longevity of any motor. I don't think jumping to a 0w40 is the answer for the 3.6. I'd venture to say 5w30 would be a far better option all around.
Few things more viscosity spread you have your base oil has to...
