While I like data driven information, I have learned to un-trust it when it conflicts with the knowledge acquired through experience.
There is a performance difference between heavy & light lube oil.
I am mostly deaf, & can both feel & hear the differences between the 0w20 & 5w30 when the engine...
Yup! Had to use one to whack a Delco Remy starter motor to make it home from ChannelView, TX.
I like to assemble my own tool kit with essential tools needed & other items for emergency securing.
I also assemble my own first aid kit & firefighting stuff.
Just one small fire extinguisher? I...
I'm sold on the 5w30.
Right in the middle of the other "extremes" above & below seems like a beneficial compromise for me.
I am still convinced the lower drag 0w20 became policy to comply with CAFE standards.
I HAVE to add biocide to my diesel fuel, or my engine won't run very long.
Black mold grows everywhere down here along the gulf coast.
It coats my fuel cans, vehicles, shed & siding.
It even infiltrates the low sulfur fuel, clogging filters & fuel lines & will clog check valves & suction...
I want to be seen & noticed when driving.
I have been involved in a high number of collisions over the past 30 years of driving with a CDL in the NOLA area from the I-10/610 split, the high rise & lost two cars @ the I-10/I-12 junction.
Even been hit by others ignoring rural stop signs near...

Most modern engines are equipped with...
Why not do a thorough inspection?
It might involve crawling beneath it.
I purchased a 23 Sport S last year with 56k+ miles with no logged history.
An inspection revealed much cosmetic wear but i could not find any mechanical defects on non-wear items.
I looked in the glovebox & found insurance &...
I report the numbers I see on the dashboard.
I often perform resets while driving between cities to gauge how high I can push those numbers.
Speed, wind, water & topography all conspire to use more fuel..
When driving north from the coast, the land rises, & my fuel consumption rises with it.

I switched from the 5w30 R&P back to PUP 0w-20 when winter began.
I don't like the results of the 0w-20 & will return to the R&P when temperatures allow.
My results were more engine clatter, faster throttle response, & increased fuel consumption.
I was seeing 30 mpg with the 5w-30 R&P on the...
Might be the opportunity to inspect beneath the valve covers, & look for anything loose, damaged or worn.
Those plastic parts & rubber hoses usually only last so many heat cycles.
I am just below 60k on my 23 3.6 with all OK. :)
That won't last without intervention.
I have a couple I have tried on my 23, but have settled on a cheap chinesium mirror mounted one from Walmart.
While it works fine, it's wideness prevents deployment of the standard sunvisor's.
I also have one with four channels that suction-mounts to the glass, but due to the nearly 90 degree...
Sounds as if the mechanics are praying the sensor replacement gets the truck out of their shop & runs long enough to get the owner to go elsewhere.
I have seen that in my shop where the mechanic knows what is wrong, but will replace just the sensor & call it a day, delaying the repair & hoping...
Tough to watch, but I will gladly learn from the mistakes of others.
Glad all survived.
No wonder full comp & collision insurance costs so much on these.
I have been surprised by many flash floods & surf, but never got carried away................................
