Not entering as I won a set during their last contest. These mats are excellent! If you don’t win but still need some mats, I highly recommend. Fit is perfect, style is great, price pint is great, and so far pretty durable.
Thank you so much for the kind words and continued support — we’re so glad you’re loving the mats! Your feedback means a lot to us. Hope they keep your ride looking sharp and clean for a long time to come!ā¤

My best vehicle related memory of my dad was being taught how to drive back around 1980 in his stick shift CJ7 Golden Eagle. I remember slipping off the clutch before the garage door was up and taking out the bottom section of the door. He wasn't happy about it but didnt lose his temper and a few days later he taught me how to repair a garage door
What a classic memory — from clutch slip to crash course in garage repair! Sounds like your dad had the perfect mix of patience and practical skills. It’s those kinds of moments that really stick with us. Thanks so much for sharing, and wishing you a meaningful and memorable Father’s Day. šŸš—šŸ›

Great story and memories. I'm sure you miss him like I miss mine.
I mentioned a couple of things earlier about my Dad but there are many that come to mind after I have been thinking about this today. Love the Mustang. I grew up driving a '70 but it wasn't a Mach 1 but still it was a blast to drive. My two fondest memories was my girlfriend sitting on a pillow on the hump between the bucket seats just to sit by me (no seatbelts back in the day) and me showing up at the school gym to play a basketball game as a senior with all 8 cheerleaders stuff in the car with me. All the players thought I was the man lol. Turned out to be my 15 seconds of fame. Wish I had hung on to that car. Hind sight.....

I blew the motor in the '82 Eagle he gave me on the way to get the muffler fixed. He was on the road to Pulaski, NY for the annual salmon fishing trip with his buddies. I imagine the weekend was more drinking than fishing but in a van full of his buddies they drove my the ole AMC Eagle DOA on the side of the road after about 1/2 mile oil slick on the free way.

Me and my friend had to hitchhike to the next exit about 3 miles up the road. Right when i got to the payphone and picked it up, i had no idea who i was going to call, i heard a horn beep and knew instantly it was my dad and literal shit myself. I knew i was done for.

I had to sit in the car with his friend at the wheel while he towed me back home. I remember his friend was super cool and reassured me he would eventually get over it. His friend chew Redman And Big league chew at the same time HAHA CLASSIC.

He never went on that fishing trip. Just laid into me the entire weekend. I was a smart ass too. "I didn't make you stay. You could have still gone." HAHAH that went over really well for me too.

It took my dad a very long time to get over me Killing his Eagle. I always felt it would be his dying words...."you killed my eagle"

This is probably why he would not ever let me drive his GT all those years later.

I would steal his van to joyride though it was almost impossible to put an exact double digit on the odometer. I knew he memorized the last 2 numbers. If it said 237.5 i have to make sure it was at least 247.5 to not get busted.

Awesome story. Sounds like you were a handful back in the day. In fact, you may still be that way lol. I probably would not let you drive my GT either. Your mileage story reminds me of Ferris Buellers Day Off. :)

So many stories.
When trying to think of one favorite, this story popped up in my head, and I am going to run with it.
Mom & Dad had a cabin in the N Georgia mountains. It was on the Toccoa River, off Aska Road, not too far from Blue Ridge, Ga. (Dial, is the community, for those who know the area). They loved to go up there on three day weekends, and vacations. I believe I was age 9 for this story, the youngest of five brothers, with a 10+ years difference, so I had to tag along with Mom & Dad.
We lived west of Atlanta, and it was a couple hours drive from home.
One weekend they took me to Six Flags over Georgia. We were on the big paddle boat ride, and saw the fort, the Native American village, and so fourth, and it came upon a mountain scene with a fake Bobcat standing in a cave. Mom snapped many pictures of it among other things.
That winter, the Toccoa River was very low. Dad and I loved to hike the mountains, and going up the river was the choice for this mild winter day. We walked for miles and miles. Walking in the mountains was always an educational experience. I learned what I could eat, use for hand cleaner, what not to touch, animal tracks, and such. Dad collected empty hornets nests, that we often found on these hikes. He had so many that this became the name for our Cabin, the Odom's Hornet Nest. Anyway, I carried a camera on this trip. I remember wading out into the bone chilling water and took a picture of Dad standing in front of a cave. It wasn't very deep or large. Just an opening between two boulders well above the water. It looked like it would make a great photo.
When all this film came back from the developers, we saw this, and later that Six Flags cave. It didn't take much imagination to see that the two caves looked alike. Enough alike to play a joke on Grandad. The "story" was that Dad and I found this cave, and later came back to find it occupied.
Grandpa lived on the town square of a little town named Fairmont, Ga. Everyone knew my Grandpa. People would go out of their way to drive around this square, just to toot their horn and wave, because he, at 70, liked to sit on his front porch. We almost always stopped at Grandpa's on the way to the Cabin. If we left on a Friday, Granma insisted we stay and have dinner with them. Grandad wanted to keep the pictures. He wanted to show them off. It seemed okay. A few weeks later, we found out that he was going to run them in the local paper, and my Dad had to be there at a certain time the next Saturday to be interviewed. People wanted to know where this cave was, could we take them there. It was about to get out of hand. We had to admit it was all a tall tale. Grandpa was angry, well, disappointed. Several weeks later, Dad noticed a Sheriffs car following us. He knew he hadn't done anything wrong, so we continued to Grandpas house. This is when the blue lights came on! The Deputy accused my Dad of swerving in the road, and not coming to a complete stop somewhere. He wanted Dad to take a breathalyzer test, but it wasn't working (this was 1969), he had Dad walk in a straight line. Told us to stay in the truck. He let my Dad go if he promised to obey all traffic signals, and no drinking and driving...and probably a few more things that I couldn't hear. As he drove away, Dad noticed that he was from Bartow County, several miles away, and not even the county Grandad lived in. Grandad never came to see what was going on. It seems like Dad had been pranked.
The trip on to the Cabin was spent talking about the Deputy, why he waited so long to stop us, we knew Grandad was involved, even though he held firm that he wasn't, with a cool poker face. Grandad was Moms father, and he and Dad occasionally had something going on, but this was the time it had gotten really big. Usually it was just competition for the tallest tale or something like that.
