I installed a 2" level kit along with the shock extension brackets. I have 35" BFG tires, EAG front bumper with winch. Whenever I hit bumps in the road going 40-45+, I hear what sounds like it bottoming-out in the front end. Would the weight of the bumper/winch cause the stock shocks not to be able to handle the load? Any other ideas?

Thank you

Just to confirm, your kit included 2” bumpstops?

It did not include those. Iron Rock 2" level kit. Just looked again on their website and they do not mention those. I guess I need those?

I can’t say definitively that is what’s causing your noise, but there isn’t anything stopping your shocks from overcompressing in the front.

I would go back a check all the bolts/nuts that you loosened/removed and double check that they are tight.

You TT Z reminds me of the one I had. 1991 Red, re-mapped the fuel, changed out a pulley, put some kind of bullet looking plugs with holes in them in a couple of hoses (that was 20 years ago,) turbo timers and changed out exhaust. Once I did those mods, that car was unbelievably fast!!!

I have the same kit and I’ve never had the issue you’re describing. My guess is that some thing is either loose or potentially your front spring isolators were not appropriately realigned

Thanks for the advice. I will check it all again to make sure torque specs are correct and springs are aligned properly.

was my dream car at 16yrs old, I keep this one mostly original with some hidden mods..not to many have survived the 90's car culture

Check your shock extensions. I installed the Daystar 1.5 levelling kit and one of the bolts that holds the extension to the stock shock mount broke and it was shifting around.

Recheck and torque everything again with all the vehicle weight on the suspension. Don’t put the frame on jack/stands.
