Well mine is similar, it sounds like a low moan as if a hydraulic system is hitting relief but without squeal or whistle. Apparently it is a wheel bearing. We shall see.

In my case the sound isn’t squealing. Its a low grown, moan with the truck in very slow reverse
Hmm, seems like I used the wrong word. Sorry, perhaps it is a moan and not a squeal.

Maybe I will make a new thread: Does your Jeep moan, groan, squeal or whistle? What was the cause? Haha

Well the dealer replaced the LF wheel bearing today.
Picked up the truck and then told me that the issue was not resolved. It is now with Jeep engineering. Lovely.

Frustrating...
I may have solved it, by accident. It’s been a week and the sound is gone. It went from hearing it every time I back out in reverse from a parking stall or going into my garage to ...nothing. In fact, I completely forgot about it until I got email notification of your post.

(For me, the sound was coming from up front on the right hand side.) I think it’s from the air box. It may be a slight vibration in reverse. *Engine torques in opposite direction in reverse than forward*

I did two things.

1. I installed the TRIGGER 6 SHOOTER and tucked one of the wire leads under the air intake running it along to the front for my road side assistance safety strobe lights. Tucking the wire along under the air box components may have held something...
The second thing I did was installed a factory rectangular K&N filter and drilled several 1” holes just below the filter around the perimeter of the lower air box. Result,...moaning sound is gone.

UPDATE: The dealer is ordering me an entire new front axle. While I am furious that a two month old vehicle needs this big of a repair, I am happy they are replacing the entire thing rather than one small piece at a time. Unfortunately, I do not have the exact cause. When I asked, they just said the shop foreman looked at it himself and says a new axle is needed.

For anybody wondering about my noise. It’s never come back. It was the air box/filter or both. What I did fixed it.
