Thanks all for the input and for sharing your experiences - very helpful. I just started a new job Monday so having a busy week but thinking about going to the dealer on Saturday. Still thinking about my OTD price as this would be a big purchase for me.

Take your time at the dealer. When I go to purchase a new vehicle I write down what I want for my trade in and what I will pay for the new vehicle. Do your research.
When I bought my 2020 in JULY 2019 I was there for shit 6 hours. They came with a price I countered then walked around the lot. Like I said it took several hours . They gave me a price lower than what I wrote down. You should have seen his eyes when I reached in my pocket and pulled out the paper and placed it on his desk. I said thanks you saved me more then I expected.

I have for instance several 2022 JT Gladiator Rubicons right now, after rebates and dealer discount I am at 9600 off MSRP plus tax, license and 85 doc fee. Slightly more discount if you have active tread lightly membership (over 30 days) This offer for California residents only. Expires 3/31/2023.

I was in a similar situation and bought my 2022 at end of February. Agree with what everyone said about picking your price before you walk in and stick to it (or try really har to :) ). I do think in person eventually helps. I got a reasonable OTD prices in writing via PDF sent in email from a dealer 1 hour away and a dealer 8 hours away. I drove the the dealer 1 hour away and got close enough to my price that it didn't make an 8 hour drive worth it. I was also looking for a very specific set of features and not many out there.

Make sure you ask about all possible rebates and discounts. Business owner, own a different brand (conequest rebate), first responder, etc. There may be some you'de never think of and good dealers know about and disclose as many as they can especially to move prior year vehicles. <rant> 2 weeks after I got mine I got a 5k rebate offer from Mopar to cancel my lifetime warranty on my WK2 if I bought a new Jeep but they wouldn't honor it since I already bought the JT <rant over>

Good luck!
