This thread is starting to remind me of Dr. Seuss and the Sneetches on the Beaches, where some of the sneetches had stars upon bars on their bellies and the others had none. My Rubicon-X with its inferior steering wheel puts me in the camp of the sneetches without stars upon bars.

But wait, my Z06 Vette has a fancy steering wheel. Does that count? :jk:šŸŽ

Over 5 years in the Overland so it was super easy when comparing models driving the others. Until they went to the POWER seats, the seat bottoms were pretty much the same. I do miss the seat bottoms that the Overland had and the prior Mojave had. These are flatter, luckily the seat back is pretty much the same.
I have to edit this a bit - these Mojave seats sit just as firm and close as my Overland did. The seat bottom LOOKS lower and flatter due to the side panels coming up farther. But as far as the foam and "bolsters", pretty much the same. So the flatness is an illusion when looking at them. I'd say the seats are hard - not as hard as our 2018 Grand Cherokee seats where - those were so firm I think they used wood instead of foam in the seats - you could press on them and they barely gave.
These are a very close match to the Overland seats - and I've spent a lot of hours in those over the course of 5 years - so they really haven't taken anything away from the seats.
I like that the orange accents are just that - ACCENTS. It makes it more "dressy" instead of in-your-face too much. It's just the right amount. I think now there's a good balance of the orange accents through the interior.

Rubicon seat - the edge stitching wasn't red or any other color in 2023. (and the seat bolsters are firm, IMO.)
I believe it's from marketing where people believe the Mojave seats are "better" or "different" than Rubicon. You still have a rough ride if you use a Rubicon as it's aimed to be used!

Looked up a 2024 Mojave X and it only lists one steering wheel 7TH321U5AA which seems to be the orange stitched one.

Seems they made a running change with 2025.
I ordered a 7TH321U5AA... let's see what it looks like when it arrives.

The 2025 does have the thumb recesses.
It does not have the orange stitching or the perforated leather. otherwise, the thumb recesses are there.

So it's not a base sport steering wheel.
It's not an Overland steering wheel even though it looks like it in certain light.
Once you drive it and put your hands at 9 and 3 you find them easily and they show in the right light.
I normally don't drive with my hands at 9 and 3, more like 8:30 and 3:30.

With my thumbs on those recesses then my fingers are on the unheated part of the wheel in cold weather.

the bit that these have "base sport wheels" like someone here has said:

Find me 1.....ONE!!! 2020 - 2025(with an actual Mojave wheel) Mojave owner who wishes they had the new base Sport wheel on their truck. They fucked this trim up. Quit supporting this crap.
is - well, base bull crap.

They all hold up. Dust, dirt, grime - they don't fade. My truck sits in the sun in SoCal all day.

The Mojave was unique with its suspension and driver connection - more aggressively bolstered seats and a much better wheel. Half of the latter is gone.... I wonder if they neutered the seats too. Most Gladiator owners have no idea wtf I am talking about because they never drove a Mojave. The seats and wheel are better. They're unique among the models. Rubicon got none of this. That said...the Rubicon model should have these things too given the PRICE. The use of the hydraulic jounce stops is a major expense over cheap rubber stops - I'd not be surprised if those go next.

The first change they made was black springs versus the original gray that matched the skid. That's cosmetic... not many f***s given there...
but they've been getting lazy with the Mojave the past few years and it keeps getting worse. At least Rubicon hasn't been gimped. It appears the same as always. Stitch color isn't a big deal.

What's tripped me out in this thread are the weird Jeep fans who excuse anything Jeep does.

'I can't see a difference between the two wheels.' ( these people are BLIND and shouldn't have licenses )

'Jeep engineering removed the wheel because it was too aggressive for street and offroad driving. It was a phased-in engineering change.' ( after 5.5 years, because Jeep Cares(TM). Too bad they didn't re-engineer the rear window )

'Jeep removed the colored stitching because it fades and your hand oils stain it'. ( LOL )

Just stupid bullshit over and over. It's a Jeep thing I guess. Yes I'm triggered AF. Stop supporting Jeep GIMPING you while charging you asinine prices.

@ShadowsPapa first said he couldnt see a difference....then when shown the MAJOR difference..... he said perforated leather fills with dirt and grime ( LOL ) and doesn't hold up.... straight lmfao. Here's mine after 4 years with death gripped, butt clenching 100mph desert runs. I've not once cleaned the wheel. I'm sure someone will say ' bro I can see skin cells in there......not good '.

Ready to delete all of my YT videos and how tos if this is where this community is going....some worthless Jeep fanboy site. Good grief...
I’ll be honest with ya, I’m kinda glad we brought up the Mojave wheel and threw a grenade in this shit…didn’t think it would be that be of a deal, it’s just a wheel we like for Christ’s sakes. I’ve accepted Jeep put a different wheel on and at least they did gray thread with the shifter too for the new ones. I haven’t beaten the shit out of mine as I’m still paying it off and to each their own wheel preferences. It’s just annoying when Jeep cheaps out. RIP Mojave wheel šŸ˜‚

With this being a Mojave X thread, I found a great price on an X in the ā€˜41 color…only reason I’d want to move on from my Mojave now is bc it doesn’t have the full time auto 4wd. Would be nice to have in the northeast with our unpredictable weather sometimes. For the folks that already have a Mojave X what are your favorite and least favorite things? Steering wheels aside, as I mentioned before I’ve accepted the new ones ain’t changing. šŸ˜‚ Thanks in advance, if I can make the deal work I might make a move.

I can't decide on color but I'm cheap and will need to wait for some better deals. But there starting to look pretty good.

And check out pic #12. I'd travel for the wheel

That's an earlier 2025 build - check the destination charge. That's the old number, before the change this year.

To me, parts of the steering wheel leather look like they couldn't form it nice and smooth and it's got wrinkles. That's just me, I guess - other's love it and believe it's far superior, so whatever.
But that portion of the wheel just looks like the leather is loose.
It's an opinion - worth every penny you paid for it!

Oh ok, I thought the 41 color was a later build. I wonder if we'll see any Joose with the old wheel. Just seems like a silly spot to save money on.

I’ve been looking for a Joose Mojave X and haven’t seen any in the Northeast at all. Seen a couple Rubicons but that’s it.

Seems to be a bit more of a rare color, perhaps.
I did a quick generic search and almost all of the first few pages of them (several dozen) were "in transit" or "being built".

I'd order it if that's what you really want. Jeep tends to cut off production of limited colors pretty quickly. You could wind up waiting for one to hit the lot and it never appears and by then Joose might be discontinued.

Mojave superiority complex. Untreatable

I've driven them all. And frankly, the Overland seats wrapped up and held you in the seats very well.
I drove Mojave, Sport, Rubicon and Overland.
Before the power seats in the X - there wasn't any real difference between Mojave seats and Overland seats. The "bolsters" were firm and held you nicely, almost form-fitting in a way. You didn't slide around in them on really rough ground. That's what I liked about the Overland seats vs. some of the other levels. (I bet certain Mojave owners have never driven a stock Overland so how can they say or compare?)

I noticed something my Mojave does that my Overland didn't - when hitting certain parts of a country highway with frost heaving - the Mojave's ass end left the ground and shifted to the right.
You could feel it jump over. It was a hard bump.
Never had that on the Overland. Something to get used to.

I don't see any of them as "superior" to any of the others. Each has a purpose and an intended audience. They are each aimed at or marketed to people who want those features.

The Mojave is more "planted" feeling but with all of that extra weight and bigger tires, DUH. Weight does that.

The ride of a STOCK Overland is really not much different than a Mojave on our streets, country roads and highways. And some members here, past and present, who have owned both, have said similar, so it's not "just me".
Some things are more smooth, some things aren't any different at all. And that is having driven each level, comparing with no bias at all. I don't care what you have - if it's a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator of any level - it's all good.

Funny thing - someone is still talking about me - but maybe doesn't realize that he's got me blocked both ways (over a stupid-ass steering wheel). But that's all "whatever".
Come on Bill. Itā€˜s not a superiority thing. All he’s saying is that a lot of things that were unique to the Mohave trim are being removed and homogenized with the rest of the trims. At some point will the only difference be the suspension? Maybe they should ditch the Fox suspension because I hear if you just add some weight to the Overland or Sport trims they will ride just as planted as the Mohave trim. /sarcasm
