I was recently trying to install a sunshade that required me to loop bungee cords around the roll bar at the front of my JT. I was trying to get them over the top of the roll bar and under the windshield, around the roll bar and back in to the cabin.
However, I appear to have a foam seal between the top of the roll bar the underside of the top of the windshield that forms a tight barrier.
See pics below for the gap I am talking about and the foam seal above the blue PVC I was trying to squeeze in the gap:
I assume it is some kind of weather stripping and / or shock proofing so the windshield doesn’t bump / shake against the roll bar.
My question is do the rest of the JTs have this down seal between the windshield and roll bar top? Is it only the 2026 models? Is it a factory seal that’s supposed to be taken off?
Any feedback / help would be appreciated. The sunshade manufacturer says they are not aware of any such foam strip in JTs and that their product should fit.
