Hello all. Just had my 3.0 Gladiator at the dealer for some work to the DEF system. Thought I'd post up what it was in case anyone else is ever searching the forums to troubleshoot.
So, it started with a really cold day here in Manitoba. -24C and I had to run uptown to grab something. Of course I was in a rush so I started the truck as I normally do, only this time I didn't really wait that long for it to warm up. I had it plugged in as well overnight. I drove uptown and it was reluctant to move!! She was cold.
I did notice it seemed pretty sluggish even after driving for a bit. The next day I was taking it to get new tires. Started it like before and all was good. Drove the hour drive to the place to get new tires and as I was pulling in the message on the EVIC popped up saying service DEF system. See dealer. Engine will not start in 315kms.

So I continued to drive it because I had to. I brought it inside to thaw it out and left it for a couple days. My DEF level was just over half. I booked an appointment with the dealer to diagnose it. It went to the dealer and the EVIC said I had 35kms till it wouldn't restart. They diagnosed it as a supply hose. P/N 68335685AD along with code P20BD- Reductant Line Heater Control Circuit open. Which is the same code I got with my JSCAN. So the injector line from the tank to the injector in the exhaust heating circuit was toast. I have no idea how that happened or why. When talking to them they said they probably replace about 4 a year between all Stellantis 3.0 variations. The part was originally 315 but they tried to cut me a break and gave it to me for 251. Was grateful for that.

After that was complete it was still throwing a code. P24F3- Reductant Tank Temperature/Fuel Temperature Correlation. Looks like my fuel heater was heating the fuel when it wasn't needed. They cleared that code and it didn't come back. I picked it up and have been driving it with no problems so far.

I wanted to give a detailed description of stuff leading up to it so if anyone else has this problem they can try diagnose it themselves. As you can see I was out of warranty on both accounts. The 60,000 or the 100,000km one. This particular part would have only been covered under the 60,000km warranty anyway. I tried to get it under the emissions warranty, but that only covers like 5 major parts they said.

I could easily have fixed this myself after they diagnosed, but we were leaving to drive to Philly to see my son and didn't have the time.
Anyway, long story!!! Hope it helps someone down the line.
Thanks
Clarence

Thanks for posting, I wonder if manufacturers ever thought of incorporating a Def tank and line heater that is powered anytime a block heater is plugged in.
Probably just more complications/problems added, but it did cross my mind.

Yeah. I’ve thought of that as well.
Ultimately, such a crazy idea. Water in the winter! 🤷‍♂️
