Bingo. My life events derailed my delusions of grandeur of any type of retirement. Being very successful in my youth...then injury...finished my degree on my dime, which I'm still paying for...2 divorces (divested retirement accounts twice) after paying for step kid's degrees or at least the majority of (while I still have debt for mine)...another major illness... Long story short I'll work till I drop. Came to the realization with the help of some professional contacts that I have to enjoy what I have left. I've already outlived my father's and grandfather's life spends so now it's all about me. LOL...then the job changes with a gap, which didn't help in the slightest. Nice guys never win. Not that I want to be anything other, but damn. Luckily, I've had experience in several unrelated professional fields and I'm good in each of the fields and have established many excellent working relationships. So yeah...I know a little about life from experience. But everyone has their own story and it takes some of us longer to learn what's more important. One of those is to make sure to cover your 6.

Oh and sorry for the rant from last night...lol. Victim of my own success and I'm slammed at work to cover other people...again.
I'm 5 years from the age my father died. My dad's brother made it into late 60s or early 70's, grandfather around 80. I've had many close calls, accidents and direct incidents.... some interesting, and this caused me to remember and think many of them about again. Damn I got to start writing my book.
