I bought a 2022 Gladiator (Willys) in August and the first time I took it out, 4WD would either not engage or, if it did, it would slip out to neutral within about 15 feet, or if I let off the accelerator. I looked the issue up on this forum, and there were several posters with the same issue that had ended having a new transmission put in. I'll get the language wrong, but something about a wire in the transmission rubbing against something causing a buildup...I'm no mechanic and I can't find the thread.
Anyway, I finally got mine in to the dealership. There was a linkage bolt missing, causing 4WD Low to either not engage or not fully engage. New bolt, the mechanic tested it several times and sent me home. I have tested it a couple of times since on various surfaces, changed speeds, full stops, etc. It is now much easier to shift, easily engages, and stays in.
