After you made changes with the Tazer did you do a full reboot followed by 2 sleep cycles? This seems critical in making sure changes "stick."

Yep, followed those instructions to a T. I'm assuming it stuck because the flicker us gone, Ooh, I also turned off my TPMS since my current rims do not have them. And all of that is working.
