I had someone ask me about mounting a rocker switch plate/3 rocker switches to our Universal MOLLE Panel. So, my wife and I were kicking around some ideas last night. Turns out, the MOLLE panel is the perfect length hole for a rocker switch! They click right in. If only putting the rocker switch in there is a little play from side-to-side, but the switch is locked into place. A little more shallow rocker switch should work great. The ARB switch is a bit taller than some other rocker switches, so it does not have enough clearance to sit directly into the MOLLE panel, almost, but about 2mm too tall. So, I designed a few switch plates that will raise the switch up some from the panel and give a little more clearance, hopefully enough for 90 degree wire connectors. But, a few spacers under the switch plate would for sure work. I also did a plate with 2 switches and an air chuck hole. If using spacers, it would allow using the JIC-4 air chuck from ARB with a 90 degree elbow. If the MOLLE is mounted on the cab side, I believe it would have plenty enough space behind the panel, since it has an inch or so behind the panel on that side. So, this makes our new Universal panel even more versatile!

I like it! Especially or those who want to mount taller items and don’t need the panel behind the wheel humps. It looks like you can still get a 2x4 load bar in without removing the panels as well.

Thanks! Yes, I have had several ask why I don’t design a full panel. Since there are a few different full panels on the market I wanted to address the issues that many have had concerns with. Since most I see that are being used are only utilizing the top section I thought of this to be a good alternative design!

How much static weight do you think you'd be comfortable putting on them? I'm planning out an overlanding setup and figuring out where everything goes.

If you are thinking of putting a heavy amount of weight I would suggest using stainless t-nut bolts in the rials vs using the spring-loaded track bolts that come with it. More of a heavy-duty setup that way. I have not tested them with a large amount of weight for a long period but believe with the t-nuts it would hold the weight of a high-lift jack no problem. I added 4 tabs to the top for bolting them down so that they would distribute the weight well. The panels are 1/8" aluminum, lightweight but strong. What type of items are you thinking of adding to them?
