I use a Yakima rack system and Yakima Skybox on my Wrangler. Now that I have a Gladiator, I'm having a topper installed with built in rack runners. The question is instead of installing racks on topper only, would it be acceptable to install the Yakima roof rack half on the rear section of the Gladiator and half on the topper? Should be the same height. Hardware will be different because I have towers that attach to the gutter and would need a set of new pads for the runners on the topper. I have been advised that this might not work because of the articulation of the bed when on the road. This is for road driving, not off-road. I use the Skybox to carry golf clubs and golf stuff.
