UPDATE:

Received an email from the dealership, offering to absorb the tax hit if I would take delivery in 2020. Yep, I'll do that...

11am Saturday, I'll be picking up the long-awaited JT - 91 days, or 13 weeks to the day, after it was ordered. Dilemma solved.

Where did you order? I am in sw Mo and the closest place I have seen mentioned as a good place to order is in Arkansas.

Was just going to mention you should push that button again.

They make money by taking the $500 hit to get it off the lot.

Most dealers around here won't accept new deliveries in December to avoid inventory tax.

Dave Sinclair CDJR, Pacific, MO. About an hour southwest of downtown St. Louis. If you need more info, let me know. They were OK on their deal before the Employee Pricing incentive rolled out - certainly not as low as some, but I prefer to do business at the same place (been dealing with the same salesman for ~15 years). YMMV

I thought about dropping the hint a third time, but figured it was better to let them bring it up if they wanted to do so. If it would have arrived in early November as we expected when the order was placed, this wouldn't have been a discussion at all.
