Installing amp research powersteps. Any electrical guys out there. Can I hook up the overide (doors off) to one of the auxiliary switches?
Any help appreciated!

Hell, what is it that turns your dome lights on/off when the doors open/close. Find that and hook it up there.

You could do this with a relay. leave the "at rest" pole of the relay hooked to your door switch (which will not get used when doors are off) then use your aux switch to fire the relay and then provide power(or ground) to the steps' relay. This way you won't be feeding back into your door circuit with the aux switch. Hope that all made sense.

Thanks for the replies. The aux panel would need to be powered on at all tlmes to use. (light on) We ended up putting a small toggle button hidden at the bottom of dash, left of the steering wheel. Shuts power off when doors are off. works great!

Anybody know of a mod to cover the pinch weld when you install AMP Powersteps? I intended to get the PowerSteps XL but they were backordered. I got the regular ones for the Gladiator (not as hidden) but when they extend you see all the pinch weld.
