I was recommending that because the bumper to bumper warranty don’t have many miles left and after it expires the issue might not be covered

True.

If major - engine/drive train will cover.

If minor - hose, seeping fitting at the bottom of the tank, might be a good learning point for a Jeep owner with a handful of tools.

Sort of depends on his aversion to risk, availability of a good dealership, etc. and how long he's got time-wise until the miles run out. Sadly, some things aren't considered drive train and would run out sooner.

I've found in my personal experiences - walking in with a bullet point list, dates, amounts of fluids, miles between and so on - corners them. They can't send you away so easily.

So - yes, if he's running out of miles and doesn't have the 2 or 4 weeks to spare (which is about all this will take to find out if it's normal or really a problem), he's got to decide that.

1500 miles left to decide.
I won't go that far in 4 weeks personally, so basing it on that, I'd check it myself first.
If he would burn through those remaining 1500 miles in a month - then he's got a decision to make.
