Hi All-
I’ve got 4.10 w/ 37s (ridge grapplers) on a Sport Max Tow w/ 2” mopar lift. I am more than happy with how it drives out west. It’s my daily driver, everything calibrated, and I easily get 17-18mpgs. I’ve got the 8 speed auto, doesn’t hit 8th gear much, probably on the weaker side for power/torque obviously.. but I’m not looking to race it! And I still can’t believe the mpgs I can pull.
That being said... we are looking at buying a pop up trailer, roughly 3K weight, and I’m going to look into regearing as well. I’m reading through the threads and see some recommendations from 4.56 to 5.38s! For a guy like me who’s content with the setup now and considering I’ll probably tow the trailer on about 3 or 4 one week trips... what would the recommended gear setup be. Ideally... I’d like a little more power and retain my awesome 17-18mpg lol. Is this possible?
