Can any of you comment on the differences in the JT vs the JL ? And on your favorite features like maybe the under seat storage etc.. I imagine the main difference is the utility of having the pick up bed and perhaps a more planted ride? Thanks
The jt is a little smoother but doesn't handle as well. No easy freedom top panel storage inside the vehicle (bummer). I use the adaptive cruise quite a bit (wasn't available last year on the JL). Pickup bed is useful, I have a utility trailer I used with the JL but not as necessary now. Jt is more susceptible to cross winds, both in normal driving and towing, but it could be the tires as characteristics on the JL changed (for the better) once the tires had a couple of thousand miles on them. Fuel mileage is down about 1mpg to 19.5mpg. It's quieter inside, I think because the rear wheel wells are no longer in the cabin. Sound system was better in the jl (both have premium audio).

I'm not entirely sure it was worth it yet, except I was towing over the rating with the jlur and am well under it with the JT. The jlur honestly was just as good as a tow vehicle, and was less susceptible to sway, maybe because the weight distributing bars had to be tensioned higher to level it. I was surprised at that, but both are decent tow vehicles towing my ~5000lbs airstream loaded for camping. Difference is I can fit our bikes in the bed of the JT where they'd have to go inside the camper otherwise and it was enough of a pain that we stopped bringing them. Much easier now and the bikes don't get filthy if it rains from road spray.

Haven't gone off road yet, but will 4th of July week, and the winch was on the jlur (and is now on the jt) for a reason. It'll get a proper test.

I agree with his assessment 100%, however, I'm sure I made the right switch....besides, in my wife's words..."you'll be back in a Wrangler in 6 months".....since I have a bad habit of changing cars every few months....although, this one is both practical/functional and a Jeep! Who knows, this could be the one! The Keeper!
