I think the 10% sale ends soon, I would check that out if you do plan to get it.
You're right!bIt does. I was waiting until it was nice enough outside for me to be able to enjoy it

Welp, if the weather cooperates tomorrow here in the Mitten, I’m gonna try to put this thing together and install it. The directions aren’t that great, but we’ll see. It would be nice to have some better images associated with some of the instructions. Why hasn’t rugged ridge provided any more images of their product? Moderately annoyed…. Anyway, I’ll try to provide some feedback soon. Wish me luck.

Good luck, hope you get it done!
it’s supposed to be 70 and sunny here tomorrow, so if I have time between work and kids stuff I may try the same, maybe I’ll wait to see how it goes for you though

Not done yet, but already something I hate about this thing. The latches don’t let the visors sit flat…

Pretty stupid that they would design it like that. Very annoying.

You are supposed to remove the big metal piece you have underneath the latch.
At least that’s how the JLU version works.

I’ll give it a try, the picture in the instructions look like it stays in there, but the second half of the instructions get pretty bad. I did try it once like that and it kind of hung there like it was missing something, it also still didn’t look like the visors would sit flat. ??‍♂

I may be wrong, as it’s been a bit since I took the wife’s off for the winter.
As I recall, the latches were not identical in that one was made for the left and one for the right but not marked.
I do clearly remember that her visors had no issue folding all the way up tho.

What's your thoughts on the top overall, despite being on the JLU?

Been very much looking forward to this update all week. Hopefully we can see some additional shots.

Hers is decent. Not the greatest I’ve seen in 20 years of owning Jeeps, but certainly not the worst.
I was not a fan of having to assemble all the rails. It fits pretty well, and didn’t leak in rain storms.
On the JLU, the rear portion can be folded forward then secured by the front portion when flipped back. This put the entire top over the soundbar. It stayed put even at 65 mph.
My honest thoughts on it:
If you have a hard top and only want to use this for half the year, it’s a great deal. Don’t know that I’d want it year round in any state with Ohio type weather.

Pulled out the directions for hers, and it does indeed appear those pieces stay beneath the latches. I honestly thought I had to remove them completely but with 3 different Jeeps in the family it’s hard to keep track sometimes.

Thanks for the review! I currently have the hard top only, and am currently running the Mastertop Bimini plus, but was looking into OEM soft top vs aftermarket. I do like that the front can be folded back half-way like the BestTop Sunrider, without the OEM soft-top man-bun by the looks of it. But only a few pictures of the JT out there and no reviews aside from yours!
