Is anyone running without fender liners? What would be the possible risks?

Is anyone running without fender liners? What would be the possible risks?

I have some fender chop lights on order and I plan on trimming the stock inners to work after the fact. In my area, road salt would be a concern.

I don’t think the rears would be a concern at all but I wouldn’t want the engine bay completely exposed to mud and whatnot
