After researching many different 2.5 ton steering upgrades, I decided to go with Apex's steel units. When ordering a few weeks ago, I was trying to figure out which SS collar to use for my Icon pass through. I sent an email and Chris reply quickly and ask me to call. I spoke to him on a Saturday while they were at a offroad show in CA. He thought it was DC 154 but he wasn't positive. He said Icon was at the show and he took the time to walk to their booth. He called back to confirm that it was the correct collar.
I placed the order and had it shipped to my office. I was going out of town the next week and just knew it wouldn't arrive in time. Three days later the parts arrived from AZ to TX before I even left. Super quick and well packaged.
Installed yesterday, along with Teraflex HD balljoints (I would have ordered from Apex but it was literally a last min decision that I picked up at the Summit Racing warehouse) and Metal Cloak sector shaft and track braces. Lifted4x4offroad in Lewisville Tx performed the work. They found my DW was from the adjustable trackbar not set correctly by the previous installer. All the parts combined made a world of difference in tighten up the steering. Feels much more solid and stable. I was debating having the TSB completed but my steering box was not bad as many videos show. My goal was to provide support for the OEM unit and beef up the weak parts. Mission accomplished.
I did have a question and emailed Apex once again on a Sat. Within 30 mins, Chris replied and said just call. I talked through my question with Chris. Again outstanding customer service.
If anyone is interested in Apex Chassis parts, I would highly recommend them for many reasons. I feel confident in the quality but if something was to happen I be just as confident that they would take care of the issue.
