Off to Mather Campground in the morning.
Should arrive around 1pm.
Hang out and see Grand Canyon Sunday and Monday.
Dip down to Sedona for Slide Rock and Schnebly Hill and maybe Table Mesa or BWCK.
Back to Colorado Wednesday.

Now I'm sagging not too bad though. Loaded down with all the food etc to sustain 5 people for that many days.
Roam Vagabond XL and bunk beds.

Ah finally back home. Quite the trip. Drove from Colorado to the Grand Canyon.
Stayed overnight in Mather. Grand Canyon is beautiful. Odd to have wifi all over.
Got to see a sunset over the Grand Canyon....worth it. Prickly Pear beer....also worth it.
Truck rode great. Big fan for the Vagabond XL. Was able to sleep 4 kids and a blue tick hound with ease. The vestibule can hold cots. Sweet.

Not a fan of Ranger Rick who got all hard at 6am about the truck being on dirt that was the tent pad. He was all about tent on tent pad and truck on truck pad never the twain shall be mixed. Sooo be forewarned many campsites are not really supportive of roof top tents with attached vestibules. Truck and vestibule did not fit on car pad. Which was also dirt.
Whole campsite was dirt. I was not crushing vegetation over any kind.

So packed up and went to run Schnebly Hill. I opted to run from 17 to Sedona.
WORTH IT. Not technically demanding by any means. I aired down to 18 and disconnected for comfort. They don't kid. It's rough. Very rocky on the descent. Lots of tour jeeps. And plenty of places to yield to climbing traffic. One guide pretended to be lost for the fun of a tour and warned me about "vortexes" and I told him to lay off the peyote. Drive down into Sedona is beautiful.
Tried to get to slide rock. It was full up. Kids wanted a fire and AZ is in a fire ban so we headed up to Bryce Canyon on a whim. .

Spent two days in Bryce. Strummer was mad that he was restricted to the paved path only. No dogs on any other part of the trails. Beautiful views and super cool ranger that was reasonable about placement of truck and tent. HE looked it over....parked just like Grand Canyon....smiled and waved.

Over all the Jeep wheeled well...even as a fat pig. The falcons were a huge plus. BOH was baller and my 16 year old drove half of it. Vagabond was great and allowed for being a bit nomadic.

We won't talk about $5.45 for 85 octane in Utah.....
