Audio volume adjusting with Bass

So I had my first audio weirdness with the Gladiator.

I was listening to a track with some decently low bass and noticed every time the bass hit, the volume for everything else would go lower by probably half; was very noticeable.

Anyone else have this going on? I checked all the settings and didn’t see anything that affected this. Seems like a really bizarre “feature”. Maybe to increase bass presence?

It made the track unlistenable though. Was like someone constantly turning up and down the volume knob.

Next track was perfectly fine although didn’t have much bass really.

Are you sure it's not the source material?
I've noticed this quite frequently, mostly when playing .mp3's via CarPlay.
I can listen to the same track off of CD or vinyl and it plays fine.

Car Play is autrocious. Whenever my wife's iphone is plugged in I get hives. Android Auto is better in every possible way.
