I had a rental Wrangler for ~ 5 weeks when our GC needed a new engine.
I used to think oh the wife may like one. Nope. FTR she doesn't like the Gladiator either but the Wrangler is just tiny inside, the cargo space is way too small for an active family with a dog. What useable space there may...
ok fine, I was thinking more like Kansas and Iowa when I was talking about 250k.
but still 60k income is rough for household living in 2023. My wife and I made that with menial jobs directly out of college back in like 2004. I remember because I got a job offer a little more than the 2 of us...
Those are visitors I bet.
That's my point. You live in Idaho and your HHI is $60k that's fine. House is $2-300k. No problem, beautiful area. But the world around you is going to be very expensive to engage with. A Wrangler is 100+% of your income.
I mean if you spend your life living in a low cost are where a house is $250k then you're likely going to have a salary to match, so things like cars are a significant chunk of income.
That also means saving a lot for retirement is also likely a massive challenge and your options of where to...
I would review this on other Gladiators or Wranglers. The gap is larger on the top than bottom, see if that's universal or just yours. Could also just be camera angle.
It's less about executive cash pay. That's easy to point to but they aren't striking over $20m or $25m. It's symbolic.
The significantly larger issue is stock buy backs. GM spent $2.5B, Stellantis $1.6B, and Ford $434M. The manufacturers had the cash on hand from record profits and instead...
I imagine there is also some sort of agreement with the engine supplier on number of defective units they will cover. While this is billed $24k to Jeep they're probably turning around and billing the supplier.
But. If this was an engine out of warranty. God bless your soul. You may as well...
