I imagine there is also some sort of agreement with the engine supplier on number of defective units they will cover. While this is billed $24k to Jeep they're probably turning around and billing the supplier.
But. If this was an engine out of warranty. God bless your soul. You may as well...
So we have our GC back. The dealer showed us the pricing sheet. The 2.0t engine ALONE was $24,000 billed. Total price $35,000 which did include trouble shooting but mostly was engine and install.
These are NOT cheap engines to fix. Be warned.

The system is WAY overly complex. Especially compared to the extremely straightforward 3.6.
You have the turbo, the e-torque motor, the high voltage system, the electric motors, the clutch system to combine them, the added cooling, etc...
Engine is in and all bolted up but they are waiting on some 1-time use bolts in the suspension that had to be removed. Probably impacted by the strike. Literally just a few bolts needed to finally end this mess and they're maybe stuck.
Checked the Jeep app around 8:45 yesterday, was in the lot. Around 9:30 was in the shop. By 10am or so it was offline.
It's being worked on, being ripped apart. Maybe tomorrow it will be done. Likely Monday which is fine.
I don't NEED a new panel but it's strongly strongly advised that I get a new panel. And I need to run through 2 rooms, drop into the garage, and across the gargae itself.
