Auto trans ratio question

Does anyone know what gear the 2.7:1 transfer case starts off on? My Rubicon starts off in 2nd, which is a 52:1 crawl ratio iirc, unless I manually put it into 1st or use off-road+. I’m wondering if the Rubi does this to even itself out with a Sport, or maybe the Sports start off in 2nd as well.

Are you talking about the transfer case in hi or lo range?
In hi range, my Sport S uses all 8 gears.

I’m talking about in low range. Does it start off in 2nd when you shift into low range or 1st. Mine goes into 2nd unless I use off road plus or shift it down.

my thinking is that a rubicon in 2nd low is about the same crawl ratio as a sport in 1st low. But you’d still have the deeper gearing when needed. Or they all just default to 2nd.
