automatic tow mode

does anyone know what triggers the automatic tow mode with the 8 speed automatic transmission? 2020 glad sport s w/ max tow.

What do you mean? There is no tow mode.

Not sure how it actually knows when you're towing, but I'm sure through various sensors/readings/etc. it can figure it out

So then it is just DRIVE. My last truck a Tacoma 5 speed auto, Drive was overdrive and to tow I used 4th gear. If I remember right it said in the manual to use 4th for towing.
